"Congratulations, guys! The October issue was a success and I want to thank you guys for contributing your effort into making this month's journal the best one yet."

Eric clapped his hands and acknowledged everyone of us in the room.

Actually, I wanted to thank him. If it wasn't for this article, I wouldn't have been closer to Stephen. Or I never would have met Ben, in that sense.

Mikayla put down her planner and ripped off a pink sticky note. "I'm just so glad it was a success."

"Yeah," I agreed. "At least we don't have to worry about it for the next two weeks."

"Oh, you bet! I poured my heart and soul into writing that feature for the drama club. I deserve a break more than anything," she said to which we both laughed.

"Exactly! I can finally watch the game and not have to work on anything after it."

She gave me a knowing look. "Girl, I thought you hate the guys? Didn't you say they were arrogant?"

"They grew on me," I simply answered. Saying they were arrogant was first impression and they certainly don't last. The boys were actually really fun to be around and they never make you feel out-of-place—whether it be the seniors or the rookies.

After spending an hour at the club room, I headed back to my locker to get my things. Classes were over but everyone weren't exactly leaving just yet. All of them headed towards the school gym to watch the Oakland Warriors play against the Fremont Tigers.

Clearly, it wasn't surprising to be walking alone at the deserted hallway. I felt like if anyone tried to murder me, no one would hear because they were busy watching a ball game.

I opened my locker and organized my things. Honestly, I liked the serenity right now. I didn't have to bear with the loud noises my schoolmates always do. It was silent and it was so me.

I then heard rushing footsteps coming closer and just before I closed my locker, I felt light fingers tickling my waist.

"Hey—" I turned to see Stephen, catching his breath. He was on his basketball attire and he looked slightly sweaty but it was hot.

"Hi," he said, chuckling exhaustedly. "Did I scare you?"

"Not really." I shook my head and leaned back at my locker. I was sandwiched between him and the locker but I loved it. "Hey, you look tired."

He placed a hand at the locker and stared down at me. "Just pumped. We were warming up."

"Then why are you still here?" I asked.

"Because I wanna see my baby before the game."

I rolled my eyes playfully. "Seriously, though?"

He grinned, seeing me blush. "Kerr asked me to get a pass from the principal. You're watching the game, right?"

"Of course!"
