I let out a breath, feeling this wild ass Virginia breeze hit my face as I drove. I pulled at the blunt once again, inhaling before letting out a breath. This week feels like the longest damn week of my life.
I can't even lie and say I'm not stuck on what went down with Pookie and I. I didn't see that shit coming at all. Shit was going good just that night before. I was lost for words that she said Tanaya told her that shit. For one, Tanaya and I did not date for 9 years. We dated for a little minute, but it wasn't for no 9 years. I didn't tell Pookie about our relationship for a couple reason. One, the shit that went down between Tanaya and I was messy as hell and I never wanted to rethink that. Two, I didn't want to lose Pookie. It was already hard as to hell to get her and I didn't want to tell her that then she fallback from me. But, it's fucked up because in the end I still ended up losing her.
I honestly didn't want to just end things with Pookie like that, but it was no talking to her. She had her mind set and if she wanted to break up with me, I'm gone let her. I didn't want to discuss what went on with Tanaya and I anyways. As hard as it was to walk away, I had to.
My phone started ringing in the cup holder so I picked it up. It was Dani calling so I answered it.
"Wassup Dee."
"Hey Trey, what are you up to?"She asked.
"I'm about to head over to my brother crib, why wassup?"I asked before sparking up another blunt.
"Oh nothing, I just wanted to check up on you. I'm over here at M house."
I just hit the blunt hearing her mention Pookie. I haven't heard, seen or talked to her since that day.
"Word?"
"Mhm, you want to talk to her?"Dani questioned.
"Nah, I actually got to go. I'll talk to you later tho, Dee."I stated before licking over my lips.
"Alright, Trey."
I hung up the phone placing it back in the cup holder. I pulled up to my brother crib and just sat out there for a minute to finish my blunt. Once I did, I sprayed myself with some cologne and made my way on the porch.
"What's up man." Forrest said with a smile, giving me dap.
"Wassup."
We made our way to the living room where Amber and Aiden was. He was seated on the floor playing and she was down there right along with him.
"Wassup Amb." I uttered, leaning down and giving her a hug.
"Hey Trey, long time no see."
"I know, I've been busy as hell. Hey neph, neph." I said with a smile, scooping him up. He smiled as I held him on my arms. I don't think he ever not smiling.
"Wassup up with you? Uncle missed you man." I said with grin, kissing his forehead.
I haven't seen nobody, but my mama Pookie, and Chris since I got back. I was so thrown off with the whole Pookie situation I barely could think straight.
I kicked it with Aiden for a minute before Amber laid him down for a nap.
"Mane, what's been up with you? I haven't heard from your ass in a lil minute." Forrest asked as we sat on the couch. I let out a breath, running my hand across my hair.
"A lot."I admitted.
"Damn, well how was your trip to Cali?"
"It was straight. I got everything handled that I needed handled. The bullshit didn't hit me until I got back."
