Dear Diary,

I felt free. I felt like I was finally let out of a cage. I felt like I no longer had to shield myself everyday I woke up. I felt like I no longer had to hide. I was free. I was no longer under another's control. But just because I am free, doesn't mean I'm happy.

Love,
Miranda

"I swear, I was about to put an amber alert out on you, M. Don't ever scare us like that."Melissa uttered, pulling me in a hug. I softly smiled while hugging her back.

"I'm sorry babies, it's just been a really rough two weeks for me."I admitted.

Right now I am in the diner parking lot, chatting with Dani and Lissa. Since I just got off work, they dropped through to make sure I was good since I haven't talked to them in like 2 weeks now. I can honestly say I've missed my girls and obviously they've missed me too.

I pulled my hair out its bun, lightly fluffing it out.

"Y'all want to go out for a drink or something?" I asked. After everything that's been going on, I definitely need one. Both of their heads shot towards me with their eyebrows furrowed. They looked confused and somewhat shocked.

"Um, will Darrell be alright with that?"Melissa asked, trying to be funny.

I smirked while laughing a little. Since this is my first time talking to them in awhile, they have no clue on everything that's been going on. I will just tell them at the bar.

"Yes or no?" I asked them.

"You know I'm down."Dani uttered, standing from the hood of my car.

"Ms. Bad Ass."She stated.

I shook my head laughing while going to the drivers side. Dani and Lissa got into their cars and we all pulled off at once. Since downtown is near here, we don't have to make a long drive.

I can't lie, I am excited to be going out with my girls tonight. I haven't really enjoyed myself since my junior days in highschool. Once I got with Darrell, I couldn't do the things I actually wanted to do. Now that he's gone, I can do those things.

My phone started vibrating in my purse, so I reached over and grabbed it. It was Drew calling, like I expected. My little brother has been checking up on me a lot these past days. I'm not complaining at all though because I love the feeling. I love to see that someone actaully does care about me.

"Hello?" I answered with a slight smile.

"Wassup M, what'chu up to?"

"I just got off work, I'm heading to get a drink with my girls."

"Alright, be safe and don't get drunk." He stated. I laughed as I pulled into the parking lot. I can only imagine him smirking over there.

"Your acting like your the big brother." I told him.

"I should've been. I act wayyy mo' mature than you."He said. I smacked my lips playfully just hearing him.

"Whatever Drew." I said laughing.

"I'll talk to you later. Love you."

"Luh' you too sis. Text me when you make it home tonight."

"Okay."

I hung up the phone, stuffing it in my purse. I got out along with Dani and Lissa and we made our way into the bar. It wasn't packed, surprisingly. I thought it would be since it's a Friday night.

After showing our ID's at the door, we took a seat in the booth. I rubbed my hands together while looking around the place with a grin. This might sound crazy, but this was my first time ever coming to a bar. Darrell never let me and back in highschool, I wasn't old enough.
