"So Alaric knew that Stefan and Damon are vampires and he still dropped me off there? It would have been much safer to have been left alone at his house. Oh gosh are you a vampire? Please tell me you aren't. I mean, you did kick that hard door down. You have to-" I rambled until Matt stopped me.
"I'm not a vampire Zara, calm down. Alaric will explain everything to you, I don't think its my place," Matt says driving. He's driving me to Alaric's college since there is no where else for me to go and it would be "dangerous" to stay with him on the job after last time even though I saved him.
"Alright," I say and face the window. It was a pretty long ride, its a good thing I didn't call Alaric. He never would have gotten there and I would have had a panic attack or something. Through the whole ride, I tried to process the whole vampire concept. How are humans even friends with vampires? Matt knew I needed time to process everything and he stayed quiet through the whole ride, which I appreciate.
"We're here. I'll show you where his room is," Matt says killing the engine and getting out of the car. I get out of the car and follow him.
Everybody there started staring at me. It's probably because it looks like I'm being escorted by a police officer. They all just stared, they didn't laugh or do anything.
"They think you're some kind of criminal, it's hilarious," Matt says smiling. I look up at him amused. "Keep a straight face and hold my hand," I say chuckling. He chuckles getting what I was thinking and grabs my hand gently. They would actually think I'm a threat if a police officer is holding on to me. They would think that if I run away, I could go kill someone or something.
Before we get to Alaric's room, the bell rings. All the doors in the hallway open and Matt gets smacked in the face with one. He falls backwards and since he was holding on to my hand, I fall with him. He looks over at me and I look at him and we both burst out laughing. I get up and hold a hand out for Matt.
He grabs it and instead of pulling himself up, he pulls me down. I fell on top of him and his face was extremely close to my face. We both just stared into each others eyes.
