"Honey, wake up," a voice wakes me up from a great sleep.
"Mhmmm what do you want Alaric," I say with my eyes closed. Oh gosh, I sound like a man in the morning.
"I have to go on a trip with Stefan, Damon and Bonnie for a few days. We are actually leaving right now. I arranged for you to stay with Matt for a couple of days," he says completely waking me up. "Why can't I just stay here? Please Alaric I'm old enough," I whine.
I can't stop seeing Matt and that girl together. I can't go live with him now.
"It's for your own safety trust me. We have a vampire problem and you're my only weakness, if they get to you, you'll die. I don't want that," Alaric says. "Matt will be here in an hour, get ready and pack a few things, it's not like that'll be hard, you haven't really gotten around to unpacking," he says hinting something else. I haven't unpacked my bag and that really bothers Alaric.
"Alright, I hope you get up," Alaric says as he walks out of my room.
I'll just sleep for ten minutes, last night was rough. I close my eyes and darkness surrounds me.
"Hey Zara, wake up," a voice says. "Alaric, I will wake up in ten minutes," I mumble and turn over to face the other way. "Its Matt, Alaric left like an hour ago," Matt says. I spring awake, "I'm sorry, I was going to wake up ten minutes after Alaric left, but I guess I slept more," I say getting out of bed.
"It's fine, I have about five minutes in my break left, think you'll be ready by then," he asks me as he scratches the back of his neck. "Yeah definitely,' I say running into the bathroom and start taking care of my business.
In about two minutes I was packed and ready to go. It's a personal best. I come out of my room with my backpack over my shoulder, "Let's go."
He gets up off the couch and opens the door up. He motions me to go in front of him and then closes the door behind him.
"I'm sorry Alaric brought you into all of this, I mean, I'm 17. I'm old enough to drive, I should be able to stay home by myself," I say looking at him beside me. "It's alright, I understand. He's just trying to take care of you," he says as we sit in his car.
"So a friend of mine named Tyler has a house nearby . He doesn't mind entertaining you till I'm done," Matt says as he starts driving. I nod. Wow, I can feel the awkwardness between us.
"So you and Damon," Matt says breaking the silence. "He's just a friend," I say with no emotion in my words. "Didn't seem like that at the party," he says with an attitude.
"He was just hugging me. It was nothing like you and that girl you had your lips attached to," I say rolling my eyes. Damon was just hugging me, he went on and kissed someone and he's questioning me about that. "I just got-" Matt starts to say but I interrupt him. "Jealous? Yeah I know," I say facing the window beside me.
