The other officers standing around my father put handcuffs on him and lead him towards the door that leads to jail. He turns around and looks at me. "I'm so sorry for everything I did," he says sincerely. 

In order to get my life in line, I need to forgive him for all the mistakes he has made. He is safe from making mistakes now and I'm also safe. I am with my family. They are my Home. They are the only people who care about me. 

"I forgive you," I say smiling. He looks shocked and smiles back. The police officer holding on to him pushes him towards the door and they walk inside.

I turn around and see all the people who care about me. 

Stefan, good ol' Stefan. He is the nice innocent vampire that has a dark side. He will do anything to protect the people he loves and he will definitely protect humans. He isn't a threat to anyone. He is just a teen trying to find his way, trying to figure out who he is. 

Damon Salvatore. He happens to be my best friend. He is quite dangerous, but hes also innocent. He has been fucked over by so many people, that he has to keep his walls up in order to survive. He feels like feelings are a weakness. But, his love towards Elena, that was strength. He felt wanted, she was the only person who cared enough to stay with him and see the good in him. But then Kai Parker came along and fucked him over. He was a total mess and built his walls up even higher and even stronger than before. He is getting better though. One day at a time, just like all of us. 

Then there is Matt. Matt has lost everything. He lost his sister who was the only family he really had. His mother never cared enough for them to stick around. He never felt like he would fit anywhere, specially with all this supernatural stuff going around. I completely understand his hate for the supernatural, but they are also people, they make mistakes and they try to make up for them. Meeting him was the best thing that has ever happened to me. He is everything I could have ever asked for, he's my Prince Charming, my knight and shining armor and also a friend. Even though I've saved him multiple times, but that's besides the point.

Alaric. There aren't words to describe how greatful I am of him. He has protected me and did everything a father should do. He is my dad. 

I walk over to Alaric and hug him tight. He rubs my back and kisses the top of my head. I let go of him and look up to see him smiling. I smile back and kiss his cheek. I turn around and look at Matt. I walk over to him and hug him. He puts his arms around my back and kisses my head multiple times. After giving him one last squeeze I let go of him and turn around to start walking towards Damon. Before I could get to Damon, Matt grabs my arms and pulls me back into him and kisses me on the lips in front of everyone. I didn't move a muscle, Matt is actually kissing me in front of everyone. He is willing to show everyone how we care for each other.

I start kissing Matt back and put one hand on his cheek and one hand on his waist while he has both of his arms on my waist. The kiss revealed all of our feelings for each other, showing everyone what we mean to each other. 

I pull back out of breath and stare into his baby blue eyes with a smile on my face. His smile gets brighter by the second. 

"Alright, let my daughter go big shot," Alaric says from behind us. We both chuckle and look at him. He had his arms crossed on his chest and he was trying not to smile.

You know the feeling you get when you're as happy as can be and you want to cry. Well that's me right now. I want to cry at how perfect everything is. I'm excited for my future with everyone here. It might get dangerous because we are so involved with the supernatural beings, but that's what family is about. Taking care of one another no matter their differences. 

At the end, Home is where family is. My home is here.
