"Yeah thanks, asshole" Levi tutted, as he grabbed a ticket from the machine.
"Not playing nice?" Riley mocked a little. "Hmm...hate those machines" Levi turned to her, before driving in and stopping.
"We just sit back and relax now." Riley smiled, as she sat back and closed her eyes.
Silence.
Opening one eye, she turned to Levi to see him smiling at her.
"What? Thats what you do" She giggled. "Yeah, okay then" Levi chuckled, as he shook his head.
"I used to love going to car washes as a kid." Riley told him, making him look back at her. "My dad used to always go to them. I loved it, I dont know why" She laughed a little. "Even when the car wasnt even dirty, he would still...say yes about going." Riley looked at Levi.
He smiled at her with soft eyes.
"You miss it?" He asked. Riley thought for a moment. "Oh god, sorry! Sensitive topic! and totally none of my business!" He quickly spoke. "No, no! It's fine!" Riley nodded, smiling. "I do miss it, but after these things happening....I guess it's not a mutual feeling." She shurgged.
"I'm sure he and your mom are just taking a small break." Levi reassured her. "You shouldnt worry, it'll be all okay" He told her, smiling. "I try and think that but...it doesnt work" Riley sighed, as she looked out the window.
"Anyway, it doesnt matter. Until they, he tells me the full story...thats when I'll start thinking nice things like a good daughter" She bit her lip. "I'm not a bitch, and I'm not trying to be. I love my dad but until I find out the truth, there is nothing my mind can do but assume the worst" She sighed.
"Until that happens, I shouldnt worry!" She then turned to him and smiled.
"So, how long did it take you to get a man bun?" Riley then giggled, making Levi chuckle. "Uh...I started leaving it to grow last year." He told her. "Your hair grows fast." She told him. "I know" He nodded, with a smile.
"Did you suit short hair?" She asked him. "I dont know. I like to think so..." He laughed, making Riley snigger. "Sorry, stupid question!" Riley sighed. "No, its fine" He nodded. "What made you decide to get yours ears stretched?" She then asked him.
"They are cool" He told her. "They are. Let me guess, you got a lot of bullshit from people?" She asked, and he nodded. "Of course!" Levi chuckled. "Ugh, people need to realize that they are not the ones living our lives." Riley sighed, sitting back and looking ahead again.
"I know right. Apparently, I'm too young to decide on a thing like these." He pointed to his ear. "Whats going to happen in five, ten years time?" He mocked, rolling his eyes. "Nate is in the process too, but he's having smaller ones" He told her.
"Really? Oh I didnt really notice" She looked at him. "Coz they are smaller" He nodded with a smile. "Well, if its any consolation, you do suit them" Riley nodded. "Thank you" He grinned, like a small child making her giggle.
Levi then drove into the car wash, and took his hand off the wheel as it entered the washer.
"It's pretty amazing how much changes happen in life" Riley sighed. "Only a couple years ago, I was laying back staring at bubbles running down the windows and not having a care in the world. Not knowing, I was going to be in California a few years later..." She spoke.
"Not properly speaking to my dad, having worries. College, cant eat in front of people..." She sighed. "...Hey..." Levi spoke up, making her turn to him. "Dont worry. Try and block it out, just think of something that makes you happy. Something you enjoy. Music, a movie, boarding..." He told her.
Riley smiled, before something caught her eye.
Turning a head, she saw bubbles on the windshield and different coloured lights shining through them making them look like magical rainbow bubbles.
"Calming?" Levi asked. "Yeah...a little" Riley nodded. "Whats on your mind?" Levi asked her.
Riley thought for a moment, before she smiled.Looking at him smiling, she let out a breath. "I feel calm here. In this car...with you" She admitted to him. Levi stared at her, as he smiled warmly. "Good." He nodded. Riley laid her head back, looking ahead again.
"...I really like hanging out with you, Riley" Levi then told her after a short period of silence.
"I like hanging out with you too." Riley turned to him and smiled. Looking at the couple of strands of hair, escaping his head she giggled as she reached her hand out.
Levi laughed before he pouted. "That was mean" He joked. "Messing up my hair" He sighed, before he grabbed the back of his hair and pulled it out making his curls fall around his head. Sliding the hair tie on his wrist, he sat back.
Riley noticed after a few second, she was still looking at him smiling.
Turning away, she rested her hand down before she felt Levi touch the top of her hand. Turning her hand around, Levi then slid his fingers in between hers as they held hands.
As the car was finishing up, it was heading out the exit.
"Y'know what...?" Riley spoke up, as she nodded. "What?" Levi asked, still hand in hand.
"Let go get food. I'm actually hungry" She looked at him. Levi frowned with a smile. "Are you sure?" He asked her. "Yeah, come on." She smiled. "100% sure?" He asked. "Yes, I am sure. What's the best food place here?" She asked making him chuckle.
