Wednesday Afternoon.

1pm

The schools were out for a week, and it felt good.

Riley's dad was leaving on Friday morning, and since they'd all been off school, Riley and Levi were hanging out. Secretly, and no one knew except the both of them and the others.

It was actually great her dad had no suspicion.

Riley bounced down her stairs, ripped jeans and a long black shirt with roses on it. It was still warm in California. Her hair was in loose curls, and her makeup was done. She walked into her living room where her dad sat, and slipped on her converse.

"Going somewhere nice?" Her dad asked. "Yeah, out to the mall" She nodded. "With Harper and Scarlett?" Her dad asked. "Yep" Riley smiled, as she fasted her laces. "What you girls going to do?" He asked.

"I dont know. Get a smoothie, ice cream, something. I'll probably drag them into the music store, and spent way too much time" She then looked up, and giggled. Her dad smiled and nodded. "You want some money?" He asked her. "Its fine, I have some saved up in my wallet" She told him standing.

"Sure? I can give you an extra 20" Her dad stood with her. "You can, but I dont need it..." She told him. Frowning with a smile, her dad then nodded. "Okay fine. Dont spend all your money though...you have enough CDs, posters...and shirts" Her dad chuckled.

"Yeah okay, I'll try not too. I'll be back later" She told him. "Okay, be careful" He told her. Riley walked out her living room and grabbed her purse, before putting it over her shoulder and heading out. Closing the door, she put her keys into her purse and proceeded to walk out her gate.

She turned and walked down the street, before she turned up to head towards Harper's house. Walking along the sidewalk, she got out her phone and a sly smile crept onto her lips. Looking left and right, she crossed the road before walking up the next street before turning back down again.

Heading to Levi's.

Getting to his door, she knocked a couple times. The door opened and Levi stood, soon with a grin on his face.

"Hiya!" She smiled. "Hello!" He hugged her, before letting her in. "Where is your lovely family?" Riley smiled at him, as they walked into his kitchen. "They all decided to take a day out...I decided to stay here, I had important things to do" He nodded.

"Awh yeah, write music. Be in a band...hard work" Riley nodded, pretending to be serious. "Yeah, and I'm supposed to be having this friend over..." He told her. "Oh thats cool. I bet she is awesome" She smiled. "Who said it was a her?" Levi smirked a little, before they laughed.

"Would you like a drink?" He asked her. "I'd love one, please" She accepted. Levi opened up the freezer and took out a bottle of cloudy liquid before pouring some into two glasses. He put it back, and turned to a slightly confused Riley.

"We keep our lemonade in the freezer during the hot months..." He nodded, handing a glass to her. "Ah, understandable. Warm weather" Riley smiled. "Yeah, but more of a bad experience. One year we left it out by accident, and when we went to have some...its had chunks in it." He made a slight disgusted face.

Riley stopped sipping some, as she looked at him. "True story, not trying to put you off" He told her, smiling. "Yeah well...too late" She stopped drinking it, and held it in her hands. Levi chuckled as he shook his head. "So what lie did you spread this time?" He asked her.

"I didnt lie. I said I was at the mall...having smoothies and dragging the girls into music stores" She nodded. "This looks like an awesome store" Levi smiled as he looked around his kitchen. "It really is, new and different" Riley bit her lip, as she hid a smile.

Levi laughed as he shook his head. "Hold on, left my phone down in my room" He told her. "Down in your room?" She asked. "Yeah, my room...at sixteen I thought I was cool to want my room in my basement" He told her. "You have a basement room?" She asked him. "Yeah" He sighed.

"Woah. That's cool" She nodded. "No, it isnt anymore. Hardly any room, no windows..." He looked at her, as if she was insane. The both of them laughed. "I need to see this" She then told him. "Why do you want to see my bedsit?" He asked. "Because...I like them" She joked as she giggled.

"Oh god, what have I gotten myself into?" He asked, joking. Riley followed him downstairs, and into quite a small room. It had a set of drawers, couple posters on the wall by his bed. His guitar sat on his bed.

"Well, you were right about the windows...holy crap" She realized the heat, as it hit her. "Yeah I know right" Levi sighed, as he scooped up his phone from his bed. Looking around his small room, she noticed a ukulele. "You play that too?" She smiled. "Oh yeah, couple months. Just got it" He nodded.

"You doing good?" She asked. "Not too bad" He told her. "I'm working on a twenty one pilots mashup" He then grinned proudly. "Seriously? Oh that's awesome!" She nodded. "Can...I hear some?" She then asked. He looked at her.

"Oh no...its not done" He began to stutter a little. "Well, whatever you have so far" "Its not good" He shrugged. "Its not?" She raised an eyebrow, knowing he was lying to her. Levi smiled widely, and looked away. "...Okay fine. When its done though, I want to hear it" She told him. "Okay" He chuckled.

"Do you know anything else?" She asked, as she looked at his guitar. "Um..." He hesitated. "You cannot, say no. You legit rocked out the other week" She grinned. "Thats...different" He chuckled. "No, its not. Your really good!" She nodded. "I'll even sit with my eyes closed" She shut her eyes.

Silence.

She opened one eye, and Levi was smirking at her cutely. "Come on, you must know something" She told him quietly, as she opened both her eyes. "I've been working on something..." He then nodded, giving in. "Great!" She picked up his guitar and headed back upstairs.

They both sat down on his sofa, and she handed it to him. "The 1975?" He asked, before clearing his throat. "Love them" She nodded. Levi sighed, he got the chords. He smiled, shyly before he looked away. "Here, look" She put down her glass, and turned before putting her hands over her eyes.

"It's like the other week. Just let your voice flow" She told him nodding. Levi smiled, as she shook his head.

"Well I know when you're around cause I know the sound I know the sound, of your heart." He then sung softly.

"Well I know when you're around cause I know the sound
I know the sound, of your heart.  I can't believe I forgot your name
Oh baby won't you come again?
She said "I've got a problem with your shoes and your tunes
But I might move in" and
"I thought that you were straight, now I'm wondering"

"You're so conceited
I said "I love you"
What does it matter if I lie to you?
I don't regret it but I'm glad that we're through
So don't you tell me that you 'just don't get it'
Cause I know you do."

"Well I know when you're around cause I know the sound
I know the sound, of your heart" He did a soft, acoustic before stopping. Riley looked at him, with a huge smile. "That was really good" She nodded. Levi chuckled, going a little red. "No, I'm serious! I liked that, so much!" She told him. "Thank you" Levi smiled shyly.
