Later on...
"This cannot happen. We've just ate!" Riley screamed, as Levi ran pulling her with him.
"Yeah, a couple hours ago!" Levi laughed, as they headed towards the water on the beach.
"Levi, I'm wearing jeans! NO!" Riley tried to rip her wrist away from his hand, but it was not happening. "Stop please!" She laughed, shaking her head.
They both got to the water, before Levi stopped and grabbed Riley before spinning her. She screamed a little, but laughed.
"It's alright, I got you! Dont worry" Levi laughed, as he held her up away from the water.
"You're so mean!" She told him, as she dropped her hands to the arms that were wrapped around her waist. "Okay, stop! I'm too heavy..." She dropped her head. "No your not" Levi told her, bringing his head towards the back of hers.
"Look, see!" He spun again, but his foot stumbled a little as a small wave washed up making him stumble to the side. Falling, he then had n o choice but to also pull Riley down with him making them both land in the water.
The wave washed back out, disappearing as Levi and Riley stared at each other. Half of each of them soaked.
"Oh...your for it!" Riley told him quietly. "Im so sorry!" He held up his hands. His curls, soaking wet along with his shirt.
"I told you not too!" Riley jumped up, before squeezing out the excess water from her hair. "I look like a rat" She sighed, as if she'd given up. "No, you dont" Levi stood up. "Look I'm sorry. I didnt know that would happen" He stood beside her.
"Your a butthole" She smiled at him, making them both laugh.
Riley walked out of the water, and back up the sand before she sighed sitting down. Looking up at the sky, as she laid down on the sand she watched as the sky slowly moved.
Obviously the earth.
The little sparkles of the stars, of the darker sky. The slight mist of clouds.
"Thanks for today, I really enjoyed it" She turned and looked up at Levi as he sat beside her wiping his shirt. "Your welcome, I enjoyed it too" He then grinned at her.
"Y'know we should come out skating one night, its so peaceful" He told her, shaking his head a little. "Your like a wet dog" Riley giggled as she shoved his knee. "Gee, thanks" He chuckled. "I'd like that though." She then nodded, smiling.
"Great, that'll be awesome" Levi smiled. Riley then turned away and yawned. "Oh shit...!" She gasped, sitting up. Checking her pockets in her jeans, she then sighed with relief as she turned to Levi. "We left our phones in your car" She smiled.
"Yeah, dont worry" He chuckled.
"What time is it anyway?" She asked him. "Around nine, maybe ten." Levi guessed. "I think we should head back soon anyway, I havent texted my mom since...like three" She bit her lip. "No worries" He nodded.
Standing up, he wiped his shorts down before holding out his hand.
Riley stared at the rings on his finger before taking his hand and standing up. "Thank you" She smiled.
"When you free then for some skateboarding races?" She smirked, looking up at him. "Anytime. Oh races? Sorry, but...I'll win those" He chuckled. "Yeah, sure...we'll see about that" Riley grinned, as they got to his car.
-
Levi slowed down and stopped outside Riley's house.
"Ahh..." She sighed, as she looked down at her damp clothes.
Looking up, she turned to Levi who was staring out her window at her house before his eyes focused on her. A smile on his lips.
She let out a quiet laugh, as she flicked some hair out of his eyes.
"How about tomorrow?" He then asked her. "Yeah. Tomorrow will be cool." She nodded, taking her phone. "Great! ... I'll walk you over" He then told her, before turning his car off, and getting out. Riley got out and closed the door.
The both walked up her pathway, but Riley got a funny feeling in her stomach.
She stopped, as she put her phone into her back pocket. "You okay?" Levi asked her. "Yeah...it's just...the living room and the hall is lit up. Usually mom would be in her room, or...have the lamps on." She looked from the front windows to Levi.
Voices spoke inside.
"Your dad still up?" Levi then told her. "Hm, Dont know. He's never liked me out too late...especially with non girl friends. Maybe mom got my back." Riley smiled, as the continued to walk up the steps to the front door. "See you tomorrow then?" Riley asked him. "Yeah definitely!" Levi grinned as he nodded.-
"Good" Riley smiled. "I'll text you...call you then" Levi nodded, his cheeks going a slight pink colour. "Looking forward to it" Riley giggled. "Dry your hair off, and maybe we wont...get thrown into the sea!" She looked at him wide eyed, before they started laughing.
The voice from inside the house quietened down a little.
"Um...." Levi looked around, as he bit his lip. He then cleared his throat and smiled at her, showing his teeth. Riley held her arm out, and Levi leaned up and they hugged. Riley rested her chin on his shoulder, as he bent down a little to her height.
The front door to Riley's house opened, the light shone onto the porch and Riley and Levi.
Awkward.
Turning her head, Riley looked to the person standing in the doorway smiling. Her smile then dropped, as she dropped her arms from Levi.
Levi turned and looked to the door too.
"Dad." Riley spoke quietly, yet shocked. Levi looked at Riley, then back at her dad with wide eyes.
"Hey honey" He smiled, with her mom standing behind him with her arms folded.
