"So. Tell me about yourself. What do you like to do?" Travis asked.
"I'm a senior and I'm going to college in the fall." Leah said.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" He asked.
"Look, I just met you. I don't really want to tell you my whole personal life."
"I'm going to take that as a yes." He replied.
"You can take it anyway you want it. It still doesn't mean I'm going to tell you anything about the subject." Leah defended.
"Okay. I can see this isn't getting us anywhere. I can just ask your mom about him." Travis said.
"It's my relationship. You have no right. Good luck trying to get me to like you. You're doing just great now." Leah said, storming off."

"What do you know about Leah's boyfriend? I just want to know the kind of guy she's dating." Travis asked.
"Jackson. He is definitely like Leah. Kind of a rebel. He has snuck in a few times, I'm sure she snuck out a few times. He has a tattoo. I don't fully approve of him, but what can you do?" Claire sighed.
"I need to meet him. Whether she wants to see it or not, she is my daughter. I want to be a part of her life now." Travis said.
"I want you to be too. I want us to rekindle. I want us to work together for Leah. Listen, she doesn't know that we've been talking for a couple months. Just keep it quiet for now please." Claire said. She kissed Travis softly just as Leah was walking down the steps.
"Oh you've got to be kidding me." Leah scowled.
She picked up her keys and walked towards the door.
"Leah wait a minute." Claire called.
"When were you going to tell me? Have y'all been doing this all along?" Leah shouted.
"Lower your voice. We've been talking for a few months. We got together a few times. I just wanted to talk to him before he met you Leah. He's your dad. I want him to be in your life. He wants to be in your life. Let's just talk about this." Claire said, calmly.
Leah walked out without another word.
