Chapter 16

February 18, 2008. 3:27 AM.
"Mom. Mom I need you." Leah called.
Claire ran into Leah's room and saw the large puddle of water gathered at the floor.
"We need to go to the hospital. We need to go right now." Leah cried.
"Ok honey. Calm down. It's ok. Call Jackson and I'll get your stuff put in the car." Claire comforted.
Leah picked up her phone and dialed the number. It rang two times when a groggy voice picked up.
It's 3:30 Leah. Why are you awake? Jackson said.
"My water broke. We're about to leave for the hospital."
Oh shit. Ok let me get some clothes on. I can be over in 10 minutes.
"Okay babe. Love you and I'll see you soon."

"Leah. It looks like your baby is in a breech position. What that means is her feet are facing down instead of her head. We can give it another 30 minutes, but if she doesn't flip we're going to need to do a c-section. I need you to prepare yourself for this." Dr. Graeme said.
"No. I'm not having a c-section. I've planned for a regular birth. I want to have a regular birth." Leah whimpered.
"I know it's not what you want sweetie, but you need to be ready if it happens. You're at 35 weeks. It's already slightly more complicated than full term. Leah I need you to be ready." She said again.
The monitor began to beep rapidly.
"Leah, we cant wait any longer. Your baby's oxygen supply is cutting off. She needs to come out now. We need to move to the OR." Dr. Graeme said.
"Mom. I'm scared. I don't know what I'm doing and I can't do this." Leah sobbed.
"You have to honey. It's time. This is it. You're about to be a mommy. You can do this." Claire said.
"We really need to move now. Jackson. We're going to get you in some scrubs and a mask and we can meet your little girl."
Jackson kissed Leah softly.
"Let's go have a baby sweetie." Jackson said.
Leah smiled.
