"Ok Leah. We're about to begin. You'll feel some pressure, but you shouldn't feel any pain." Dr. Graeme said.
"I'm ready." Leah said.
"Ok. Scalpel please."
She cut the long incision across Leah's belly.
"I see her head Leah. Just a minute or two and she'll be here!" She said.
"Jackson are you ready?" Leah asked.
"No. But nobody's prepared to be a dad at 18. I'll get there though." He said.
"This is it Leah. She's out." Dr. G said.
"Why isn't she crying? I need to here her crying." Leah worried.
"Give her a second. she'll start crying here shortly."
A soft whine, followed by a loud, belly cry.
"She's here. She's really here." Tears streamed down Leah's face.
"We're parents Leah. This is it." Jackson said.
"This is it."

"Mom. I want you to meet your granddaughter, Lacey Jane Jones-Porter." Leah smiled.
"What happened to Kayleigh Rae?" Claire asked.
"Well, Jackson and I decided shortly after that the name didn't fit right with us, and we really wanted to keep the name to ourselves. Something private we could cherish about her before she was born."
"She's gorgeous. Congratulations you two." Claire said.
"My parents and Alexa are heading up later today. I'm not sure about Lucas, but everyone else is for sure coming up." Jackson said.
"Well why wouldn't Lucas come up?" Leah asked.
"You know he hated the situation from day one. I don't think he's gotten over himself yet. Give it some time and he'll come around." He replied.
"How is Alexa doing with this? She was really upset when I told her I was pregnant." Leah asked.
"She's excited to see Lacey. She doesn't really know how else to react besides that, but she's excited." Jackson replied.
"Good. I can't wait to see her." Leah smiled.
"Get some rest babe. It's been a crazy day. I'll wake you when they get here." He said.
Leah closed her eyes and drifted asleep.
