"Hey, mom?" Leah called.
"What is it? I'm fixing dinner." Claire called back.
"We need to talk to you about our honeymoon. We aren't going far, just down to a beach house for a week, but we need someone to take care of Lacey." Leah explained.
"I need more than 3 weeks notice for this, Leah. You can't just drop it on me that I have to watch your daughter for a whole week." Claire scolded.
"I never said it had to be you, mom. Jackson said his parents could probably take care of her." Leah replied.
"So why do you two need to talk to me about this?" Claire asked.
"If something unavoidable comes up, we need you." Leah said.
"I see. I suppose I could." Claire said.
"Oh thank you mom. You're the best." Leah said, reaching for a hug.
"You're welcome, dear. There better not be any funny business on this honeymoon. You don't need two children to raise at 18." Claire lectured.
"Mother. It is our honeymoon. We are going to have sex, but I assure you we'll be safe." Leah scoffed.
"Fine. Are all the final wedding details finished?" Claire asked.
"Everything is ready to go. Courthouse appointment it set. We're ready." Leah said.
"Alright honey. Now help me set the table and we can eat."

"Alexa still isn't talking to me." Leah frowned.
"She'll come around, Leah. Don't worry."Jackson said.
"The wedding is in 2 weeks. Her dress is already finished and paid for. I don't know if she'll get over herself." Leah cried.
"I'll go over there. Maybe she'll talk to me."Jackson comforted.
"Okay. I'll stay here. Lacey is still sleeping."Leah said.
"Maybe you and Lacey should come too. She's going to talk to you one way or another. Once she gets talking again she'll be better sweetie."Jackson said.
"She doesn't want me in her life, Jackson. If she doesn't want to be in the wedding, she doesn't have to. If she doesn't want to talk to me, she doesn't have to."  Leah yelled.
"Alright, Leah. Fine. I'm still going over there to talk to her though." Jackson said, picking up his keys.
"You can go talk to her. That's great, but i'm not going to force her to talk to me if she doesn't want to. It's her life." Leah said.
"Ok babe. I'll be back later today. I'll let you know how it goes."
