Chapter 22

"Hey there Jackson. What are you doing here?"Lucas asked.
"We have to tell you and Alexa something."Jackson said nervously.
"What is it this time?" Lucas worried.
"I. I don't really know how to sa-" Jackson said, before being cut off.
"We're getting married." Leah blurted.
Alexa stormed off into the other room.
"I'll go check on her." Leah said.
"Congrats bro. So when's the wedding?" Lucas asked.
"In a month. We're just going to city hall. Leah and I don't want anything big or fancy. Just Claire, Mom, Dad, you, and Alexa." Jackson replied.
"This will be great for you. Best of luck to you. And Lacey Jane." Lucas said.
"What's wrong with Alexa?" Jackson asked.
"I really don't know. She's been acting different for a month or so now. Not really sure why."Lucas said.
"Leah will hopefully get her to talk. You know. Leah really loves her." Jackson said.
"I know. She's the closest to a big sister as Lex has ever had. She's good for her." Lucas smiled.
"I'm going to go see where they went. I'll talk to you in a bit." Jackson said, walking away.
"Alright Jackson. See you later."

"Alexa. Wait." Leah said, running down the hall.
"What. What more do you want?" Alexa cried.
"Hey now. Where is all of this coming from?"Leah asked.
"You're 18. Why the hell are you getting married?" Alexa questioned.
"I have a baby, Alexa. This is new territory for me too." Leah said, sitting down.
"How did you do it? People staring at you at school. Being pregnant and all?" Alexa wondered.
"It was hard at first, it got better though. Lacey has brought so much happiness into mine and Jacksons life right now. I wouldn't change it for anything." Leah said. "Why do you ask?"
"Oh. Um I was just wondering." Alexa said, with watery eyes.
"Alexa. What's the matter?" Leah asked.
"Please. You can't tell my parents. Or Jackson. Or Lucas." Alexa sobbed.
"Are you pregnant?" Leah almost yelled.
"Shut up!" Alexa shouted back. "I don't know yet. I could be. I still have to take a test."
"Lex. You're 14. What are you doing?" Leah sighed.
"I need you to take me to get a test. Today."Alexa begged.
"Okay. We can go now. Let me just tell Jackson we're leaving." Leah said, walking towards the kitchen.
"NO. You cannot tell him." Alexa said.
"Relax. I'll tell him we're going to grab lunch and talk. We can still go get food so I won't be lying to him. Alexa, it will be okay." Leah comforted.
"Okay. Let's just make this quick. I can't wait much longer."
"Lexi. Take a deep breath. Everything will be okay. Let's go."
Leah grabbed the car keys and they went on their way.
