Part 10

Maya

Maya went through her dresser to find some jeans and a hoodie to wear tonight and after she brushed through her long blonde hair and let it fall over her shoulders. She spent more time than usual on her appearance since she kissed Benny's cheek. It's no surprise he wanted him to like her.

She thought he might have liked her but now she is almost certain. She didn't even notice her huge grin on her face ever since it happened.

So it was already late and she left the house and made her way to the carnival.

Benny was already there handing the tickets out to the boys when Maya walked over.

"Maya you made it!" He said and greeted her.

"Yea I did." She smiled and stuffed her hands in the pockets of her hoodie.

"You look really nice." Benny complimented her and Maya smiled widely.

"Guys I almost forgot!" Bertram, the tall one said holding up a bag.

"I was saving it for sometime special! And what better occasion than this?" He said and some of the boys took a handful of the dark substance.

"What is it?" Smalls said.

"It's tobacco." Ham said.

"How do you use it?" Smalls said innocently.

Ham rolled his eyes embarrassed for him, "You're killing me Smalls."

"Benny? Maya? You gunna take some?" They handed the bag over to Benny and Maya as they were standing next to each other.

"What are you doing? They don't need none of this when they start smooching later!" Squints said and swatted their hands away.

Maya looked over at Benny and saw him slightly blush at the guys jokes.

"Come on lets go on the rides!" Yeah, yeah sad and the climbed into this big spinning elevating wheel.

Benny climbed in with Maya and locked them into their car as the others too the adjacent ones.
The ride started slow then increased to a faster pace. Maya looked over at Benny who made a silly face just to make her laugh. She giggled and Benny reached over to hug her and he leaned in to kiss her.

That was until he heard really gross noises coming from the boys sitting around them and it just so happened they started throwing up tobacco chunks everywhere and the ride had to be forced to a stop.

"That's so gross!" Maya said stepping off the ride and into some vomit.

"Come on guys. Lets go to the bathroom and get some water and back to your normal skin tone instead of green." Benny said comforting his sick friends.

"Okay I will be out here waiting." Maya said as she watched the group pile into the bathroom with tobacco spit all over their faces and shirts.

"How about you stay off of the hard stuff for a while and stick to chewing gum." Benny chuckled as they all washed off and felt a little better.

They were all sitting in a line on the bathroom wall. The boys had to recoup while Benny was thinking about when he will take another chance with Maya.

"Maybe we should call it a night. What do you think fellas?" Ham said

The boys all agreed and went out to tell Maya that it looks like they were done at the carnival.

"I can walk you home if you want." Benny said to her hoping she would let him.

"Sure." She said and they started walking back to Maya's house.
