Part 20

Benny

After baseball practice Benny jogged home to take a proper shower before going over to Maya's. He shaved any stubble on his face quickly and messed with his hair a bit before throwing on a t-shirt and shorts.

"Hold up , where are you going? You have a scrimmage tomorrow." Benny's dad stopped him as he reached the door. Benny's heart sped up as he held a condom behind his back.

"I'm going to study for a big test at Small's." Benny lied slipping the condom in his pocket unnoticed.

"You smell like you poured a bottle of cologne on yourself? Smalls has a sister?" His dad chuckled.

"No, I just took a shower." Benny said nervously and now he was self conscious about how much cologne he used.

"Okay make sure you lock the door when you come back. Don't be out too late, you have a game tomorrow." Benny's dad said sternly.

Benny nodded closing his door and heading towards Maya's house.

He suddenly had second thoughts about going through with this. He had thought about this a lot surprisingly and now he didn't feel totally confident.

"Maya, knock knock." Benny whispered at her window.

He saw the curtains open and once again he climbed in her bedroom.

"Ready?" Maya said nervously. She had on an oversized hoody with no pants on but the hoodie was large enough to cover everything.

"I am... sooo how was the rest of you day after we talked at lunch." Benny said trying to stall.

'It was fine, I guess. Normal. How about you." She said walking up to him wrapping her arms around his torso.

She surprised him with a kiss.

"No talking remember." Maya teased him then crawled into her bed.

"Are you sure? Like honestly are you sure your sure?" Benny said nervously.

"Yea, it's the only way. We won't get it on any other way. It's not like I'm Abigail." Maya trailed off.

"I like you so much more than Abigail." Benny said joining Maya on her bed.

"Show me." Maya said and placed her hands on his torso.

"Do you really want this?" Benny said nervously. He had done this so many times with Abigail but it felt so different with Maya. Especially the circumstances.

"Yea." Maya breathed.

"If it hurts I will stop. Just tell me." Benny said feeling down Maya's body.

"O-Okay." Maya whimpered as he kissed her neck.

"Relax.." Benny breathed.

"Oh my god, that was really good." Benny said getting dressed.

"Okay." Maya said doing the same.

"Really it was. You are amazing." Benny said staring at Maya leaning in for another kiss.

The kiss got heated again and Benny pushed Maya back down on the bed for an unexpected round two.

"Shhh be quiet." Maya patted Benny's back to make him stop groaning.

"Okay. I really have to go. It's 3am. My dad is going to kill me." Benny said stealing one last kiss as he grabbed his clothes and hopped out the window.

Maya remained in her bed and tied her messy hair up into a bun. She couldn't believed what just happened.

Benny was walking home and tried to open the door quietly so his dad might be asleep and he can sneak back into bed.

"Boy you showed up! Congratulations you scumbag." Benny's dad said sitting in the living room obviously drunk.

"Where did you go huh? Studying? I bet. Don't lie to me!" His father said pulling the collar of Beny's shirt into a fist.

"Okay! Relax." Benny said.

"I will NOT relax! My child just strolls home at 3 am looking like he got hit by a truck!" His father fumed.

"Calm down. I was just hanging out with a friend." Benny stammered.

"Tell me everything you did. Who was this friend?" His father said taking another sip of beer.

"She's just this girl. We had sex. But that's nothing new. I've had sex before dad and you know that." Benny rolled his eyes.

"Then why did you lie to me about it?"

"Because you wouldn't understand." Benny rolled his eyes. That's when he felt a stinging sensation in his cheek and realized his father had slapped him.

"GO to your room and go to bed." His father said.

"Fuck." Benny mumbled and stretched out on his bed.

 The Next Day

 Benny was walking into school wicked sore from last night and he looked over and saw Maya talking to Wyatt.

He wished he could talk to her right now so badly. He looked at how her blonde hair was perfectly combed underneath his hat and her smile was so sweet.

"Hey Benny!" DeNunez said slapping the Benny's back and he winced realizing his back was very sore from last night too. He thought it was just his legs.

He wondered how Maya was feeling. She looked okay, I mean she hasn't moved from where she was standing so he couldn't tell.

"Hey, what's up?" Benny said to him.

"Where were you last night? We stopped by and your dad started spazzing." Smalls said.

"What? He didn't tell me that. I was out. Fitting in a quick run." Benny said.

"I don't think so, your dad made us wait for you to get back but once it was 1 o'clock we had to call it." Ham said.

"Yeah, yeah what happened?" Yeah, yeah said.

"I don't know what you guys are talking about." Benny said nervously.

It was now lunch and Maya crept up to Benny when no one was looking.

"Hey, how are you." Benny said and couldn't hide his smile that appeared whenever she came around.

"I'm alright. But can we hold off the whole hook up thing for a while. I don't know it just seemed like a lot." Maya said.

"So you weren't ready. Maya I'm so sorry. I knew it was a possibility, I'm so sorry." Benny rambled.

"It wasn't anything you did. I mean I can barely walk today aha but NO. It was a lot for ME last night like that has never happened to me before. And the whole we aren't together thing. Maybe I need more time to consider it than I thought." Maya said.

"And don't try to kiss me right now and make me change my mind." She chuckled.

"No, I don't want to do that. But if you want to date me just tell me and you won't have to hide anything. I will try my best to make sure no one judges you." Benny said.

"I don't know." Maya said. It may have been wrong but Benny still decided to go to her house that night after his scrimmage. She gave in to him this time just because in the back of her mind there was this little voice telling her he was the one.

This time Benny made sure he was back home by 11:00. Even though the relationship with his dad was already damaged.

But for some reason every time they hooked up and weren't actually together it killed Maya. Maybe she doesn't want to be a secret. Maybe being with Benny all the time and getting to see him laugh and talk to mattered more than what other people thought.

She couldn't help but tell herself that Benny cared about her still and that being his first crush meant something special.
