Sleeping Beauty

She laid to rest still breath taking,

under the stars that gleam.

Not in the world of the waking,

am I there in her dream?

Resting in peace,

in that world of her own,

lulled by the breeze,

her contented smile shown.

Unknowing to what's in her head,

staying by her side awake.

I could be resting too instead,

but I keep watch for her sake.

Always for her,

vigil I keep,

in dreams secure,

tranquil her sleep.
