Tower

Kept within the wall,

several stories tall,

a girl's in the tower of stone,

imprisoned  up high all alone.

Only looking out a window,

watching the places she can't go,

hurting just to see,

others living free.

Sobbing tears fall to the ground,

but no one else hears a sound.

Out there no one would believe,

there's a lonely girl who can't leave.

Taught the world was something to fear,

she built the tower to be safe here.

Deeply troubled she couldn't see,

the need that there was for a key.

Rupunzel tried to be protected,

emptiness she hadn't expected,

scared of what was unknown,

so now she's here on her own.
