Perfect imperfections

Every flaw,

that you saw,

held a beauty,

you couldn't see.

Not the person you expected,

someone odd and 'imperfected'.

You tried and tried to change,

the girl you thought was strange.

I shouldn't have to try,

to live life as a lie.

To be with you,

feels so untrue.

I was never meant to fit the mold,

yet you wanted me to do as told.

Why can't you accept me,

the way I'm meant to be?
