Drowning

Unable to breath,

swept into the seas,

gasping for air,

though there's none there.

Lungs growing hotter,

burned by salt water,

throat growing tight,

trying to fight.

Being dragged deep down,

knowing I could drown,

taken from the light,

just darkness in sight.

Confusion in my mind,

the surface I can't find,

long gone from the sandy shore,

I cannot reach anymore.
