"Just come."

"But why does it have to be tonight. I can't be bothered to go tonight, to be honest with you,"

"Because! You need to get out and meet people,"

"You know I'll end up sitting down on my own, right?"

"Well, it will still be better then sitting here even more alone,"

"No it won't! Just let me stay here,"

"Jess. I'm not letting you stay here alone for another Saturday night," Laura says sternly, "There is no other option,"

"If I come with you tonight, will you stop pestering me for a little while?"

"Promise,"

"Okay," I smile in sheer defeat, "I'll go with you,"

"You might even meet someone to get your mind off Jason,"

"Argh, that son of a-"

"Hey, none of that now thank you," She smiles, ruffling my hair and dragging me towards her dark, deep closet,

"I'm not your doll," I mutter, digging in my heels, "You're not making me look unrecognizable,"

"Okay!!!" Laura chuckles, "Just the dress and shoes,"

I huff, letting Laura do what Laura does best; design all of my outfits.

"See, it isn't too bad!"

"We only just walked through the door-" I start, but get interrupted by her, pulling on my arm.

"Shh! I don't care. Now, try to socialize. Please," Her stern glare makes me shut up and not argue with her,

"Okay,"

After an hour of talking over the loud, thumping music of one of Melbourne's busiest nightclubs, Laura gets spotted by one of the guys here with a group of his friends, from England as it sounds, so I'm left sitting at the bar, twirling my finger across the top of the glass absentmindedly, counting the seconds as they go by: I'm up to 642 seconds. Only just over 10 minutes.

"Hey," A blonde, English boy from the 'pack' startles me, taking a seat next to me, "Is anyone sitting here?"

"Don't mock me," I chuckle, looking down, avoiding his beautiful eyes, "No, no-one's sitting here,"

"Not much of a club girl, huh?"

"Not at all. I just got dragged along by my friend," I smile, jabbing my thumb in Laura's direction.

"Well, the guy she's dancing with, is Matt. He's the one that dragged me along,"

I shoot my gaze up from my glass to his face, "Really?"

It's at that moment that I notice his features. His high cheekbones that highlight his face and make him look... unusual and different, his bright blue eyes that I can see so clearly in a dimly lighted nightclub and his height. Even though he is sitting on a chair, he still towers over me.

"Yeah. I don't seem like the type to turn down a party do I?" He chuckles.

"No, you don't! Quite the opposite actually,"

"Well, I am so you're going to have to put up with me for the night," He chuckles, "Because I, like you, have been ditched by my friend and have been left friendless,"

"That's the least of my worries,"
