Finn
I sighed, pushing the last cardbord box with my things into my new room.
"Done," I mumbled and trudged downstairs to grab something to drink. I would have to take a shower later, I was sweating like a pig.
Understandably, though - it was like 100 degrees outside.Caleb came into the house, noisily closing the door behind him and letting out an exasperated sigh, "We did it!"
I just hummed in response, opening a can of soda.
My friend came walking into the kitchen, "Yeah, sure, make yourself at home," he joked.I took a swig of the Sprite, "You do realize that I live here now, right?"
You see, I was really broke. Ever since I had moved out of home, I had been struggling with money, but it'd been alright.
But when I ended up losing my job, I couldn't afford my apartment anymore to save my life.I needed a solution, and that solution appeared to be one of my best friends, Caleb.
Caleb had an entire goddamn house to himself, so he offered that I move in with him.I, of course accepted in a heartbeat. It was perfect.
Hopefully.

I heard giggling from downstairs. So that girl was over again.
I had been living with Caleb for about a month and had soon discovered, that he was... Well, let's say, he had many casual "relationships" with all sorts of girls.
Sometimes he introduced people as his girlfriends, but it never lasted too long. A few weeks, at most. Whenever he broke up with someone, I was there to make him hot chocolate and hug him and all that jazz. That "I'm so sad, I really liked her" phase never lasted more than a day, either. Ever since high school, it had always been sort of like this.
I wasn't entirely sure why it was starting to bother me now. It was none of my business anyway.
I started up my laptop and looked for some jobs. Sure, technically Caleb had more than enough money to support both of us without any problems whatsoever, but even though he was a good friend, I still didn't feel entirely comfortable leeching off of him like that.
Besides, I needed to figure something out anyway, because this was only supposed to be a temporary thing until I got my shit back together and everything. After all, I didn't plan on living in Caleb's house forever.
With no college degree and very little work experience, it was rather difficult to find anything even mildly appealing. Janitor, bartender, waiter... chick-fil-a. These jobs were hardly the Ritz, but still a lot better than nothing. I had to start somewhere, right?
Hopeful, I applied to both the bartender and the chick-fil-a jobs.
It must have been an hour or two later, when I finally closed my laptop with a little sigh - in that exact second, Caleb burst into my room.
"What are you hiding from me Finny?", he asked in a sing-song voice, gesturing to my laptop.
"What? Oh, that - Nothing, I just finished-"
"Finished what?," Caleb cut me off and did this cute little eyebrow-raise thing, "Watching porn? Without me?! How could you? I am hurt!"
I laughed, "You fucking perv! I applied to some jobs."
"Oh." Caleb suddenly got a lot more serious. I wasn't a fan of serious Caleb.
"Why? You don't need one.""I mean... yeah. But I kinda want one."
