When I finally arrived at Anna's house I was starting to feel dumb. Yeah, Caleb had been a complete asshole but maybe this was still an overreaction.

I rang the doorbell nonetheless, figuring that if I was already here, I might as well go through with what I had planned.
A couple of seconds later, a very tired looking Anna opened the door. Behind her, I could see various trash bags filled with nothing but napkins and red solo cups on the floor.

"Finn?," she asked, sounding just as tired as she looked, "What are you doing here?"
"Uh... Can I explain that later?"

She shrugged, "Come in. But you gotta help me clean. I'm honestly about to die."
I chuckled, "Hungover?"
"Yeah," she nodded, "Aren't you?"

"Nah. I don't drink."
"Ugh, lucky you," she grumbled, "I always want to not drink until I... Well, until I do. And then it tends to get out of control."

I stepped inside and almost gasped at the sight in front of me. It looked like a bomb had exploded in the ground floor. There were wine stains on the beige carpet, not to mention the couch or the floor itself.
There was all sorts of trash all over the place as well.

I sighed and put down my duffel bag by the door, "Looks like it's gonna be a long day."

And I was right. It was a long day. At least for me. At some point, Anna had excused herself to the bathroom, but when she didn't come back for half an hour, I started to get a little worried so I went to check on her.
Well, she wasn't even in the bathroom, but in her bed, sleeping soundly.

I decided not to wake her up. She looked like she could use some sleep.
So I just went back downstairs to clean up by myself. I was constantly fearing that some family member would come home and think I was an intruder or something, but that never happened.
I wasn't even sure if Anna lived by herself.

After several hours of vacuuming, scrubbing and washing things and collecting trash, the house finally looked normal again. I was pretty proud of myself and I really hoped that Anna would be proud of me, too, seeing as I had done most of it all alone.

It was five pm by now, so I decided that it would be acceptable to wake Anna up. I took my shoes off, now that I could safely walk on the floor without shoes on again.

"Hey," I said quietly, shaking my friend's shoulder, "Wake up."

She groaned, opening her eyes just a little, "Leave me alone."

"No," I protested, "I cleaned your entire house, the least you can do is entertain me for the rest of tonight."

"Come here, we can nap together."
"Anna, that's not entertainment."
"Tough," she said with a yawn, closing her eyes again.

I pulled the covers off of her with a swift movement, making her squeal.
"You're such a dick," she complained as she sat up.
I smiled triumphantly, "Yes, so I've been told."

"So what do you want to do besides annoy me?," she asked, stretching her arms and I shrugged.

"Whatever. We could watch a movie or something."
"Oh, you wanna Netflix and chill!" she joked and I laughed.
"Shut up."

We both went back downstairs and Anna thanked me for cleaning up what felt like a thousand times.

"You want some mac and cheese?"
"Hell yeah," I said, following her into the kitchen, "Whose house is this anyway?"

"Oh, it's my sister and her boyfriend's. I'm just staying here until I finish college. They're away for a week, though so don't worry."
I nodded, understanding.

Anna made the mac and cheese and we sat down on the black leather couch together.

"So what do you wanna watch?," she asked.
I shrugged, "Eh, pretty much whatever."
"500 days of summer it is, then."

I internally groaned because I was not in the mood for chick flicks (not that I ever was, honestly).
But I had told her that I'd watch whatever, so I guessed I'd watch whatever.

So, we just sat there eating our food while watching the movie for a while and it was cool.
Then, maybe ten minutes after we'd finished the mac and cheese, Anna discreetly sat a little closer to me.
And a little closer - until she was pretty much in my lap, and to say that I necessarily minded that would be a lie.
It felt strange nevertheless.

I cleared my throat and she looked up to me, "You okay?," she asked and I nodded.
After a few painfully awkward seconds of us just staring at each other in silence, Anna sat up a little and pressed her lips to mine.

I didn't hesitate before kissing her back, feeling strangely accomplished that a girl like Anna was into me - even in a sober state.

She stopped kissing me for a second so that she could straddle my hips. I grinned a little, before taking the back of her head and kissing her again. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I was starting to get a little, uh, excited.

Regardless, this didn't feel right. I didn't know why or what it would have taken to make it feel "right" - it just didn't.

I pulled back, panting slightly. Anna looked at me questioningly.
"What's wrong?", she asked.
"Nothing," I finally decided to say after a short pause.

"Good," the black-haired girl smiled and connected our lips again.
I figured, that if I couldn't explain it, then I couldn't just say no.

And yeah, maybe my logic here was a little faulty, but what harm would it do?

"Bedroom?", Anna whispered and I smiled cheekily.
"I thought you said we were alone."

---

"Nice," I panted with a satisfied smile and Anna just giggled.

"You want something to drink?" she asked as she got up and I shook my head.

"I wanna sleep."
"Fair enough," Anna laughed, "Maybe this time we should actually go to the bedroom then, huh?"

I nodded with a yawn.
I slipped on my boxers and trotted upstairs with Anna in tow.
We got into bed together and pretty much as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was fast asleep.
