I was awake. Too scared to fall asleep, and let this moment slip from my grasp so quickly. I didn't know what time it was, but it must have been some time in the middle of the night.
I felt the cold wall pressing into my back and Caleb's warm chest against my own. Neither of us were wearing shirts, or clothes at all, really.
His right leg was resting in between mine. He had one arm over my shoulder and I could feel his fingertips brushing against the base of my neck and his breath on my arm.
It was comfortable, and even if it hadn't been, I would not have dared to move, too scared to make Caleb change his position and move further away from me.Why can I remember this so well, you ask?
Well, it was really important to me. And I mean, really important. The sad thing was, that I was the only one who thought it was important. I was the only one who stayed up all night, cherishing the fact that my roommate was snuggled up next to me, sleeping peacefully.I was the only one who cared about anything at all. I had always been that one person to care a little bit too much, maybe. A little too much, a little too often, a little too quickly. And that ended up being my downfall.
