I woke up tired. The light was shining through the window and I let out a sigh into my pillow.
I didn't want to be awake yet!
I turned around and my arm landed on something warm.

I sat up quickly, seeing someone asleep in bed next to me.
It took a few seconds for last night to come back into my mind.

Right... Kate. I rubbed my eyes and got up, careful not to wake the sleeping girl.
What would I even say to her when she woke up?
I just hoped she wouldn't puke on my bed.

I padded into the bathroom to take a shower.
Caleb was either not awake yet or downstairs. I wondered if he'd still be pissy after a good night's sleep.

After I'd taken my shower, I went back into my bedroom and was surprised to find it empty.
Was I actually going insane?

Logically, Kate had probably just left. 'Well, whatever', I thought and proceeded to get dressed.

I went downstairs, feeling quite happy, but my mood sank immediately as my eyes landed on Caleb who was sitting next to a half-asleep Kate with a scowl on his face.

"Hey", I said.
Kate looked up and she groaned, covering her face with her hands.

"I'm so embarrassed", she said, "I'm sorry. I only remember half of last night. I hope I wasn't too annoying. And even if I was, rest assured that this headache is punishment enough."

I smiled weakly, "Don't worry. Would you like some water? Coffee? Breakfast?"

"I'll take a coffee. I don't trust myself to eat right now, if you know what I mean.", she laughed, patting her stomach lightly.

Caleb scoffed and got up, putting his cereal bowl on the counter with an unnecessarily loud clunk.
He stomped upstairs and Kate gave me a questioning look,

"Is your friend okay?"
"Yeah, probably just grumpy cause it's early or something...", I muttered, getting started on making some coffee.

"I remember relentlessly hitting on you last night", Kate spoke up after a minute, "So did I ever end up getting your number... Or more, by chance?"

I chuckled, "Nope, neither."

"Well... Can I have your number now then?"

"Sure", I answered, "Carrying over two cups of coffee to the kitchen island and sitting down, "I'll type it into your phone if you want."

She handed me her phone and I did. After I was done I gave it back to her and she smiled triumphantly.

"Thanks."

"Do you need a ride home?", I asked after we were done with our coffee and she was ready to leave, but she shook her head.

"Don't trouble yourself, I texted my friend and she can pick me up."

I nodded and as soon as her friend was there, we said goodbye and I went back inside.

I rolled my eyes to myself when I realized that a pissy Caleb was still upstairs, and I'd probably better go check on him or he'd be mad at me for ignoring him.

I went up to his room, knocking softly on his closed door.
I heard a grunt from inside and took that as a "come in".

Caleb was laying on his bed, scrolling through his phone.
He only looked up at me briefly, before attaching his eyes back to his phone screen.

"What's up?", I asked as I flopped down next to him.

"Nothing."

"Oh, come on. I know you better than that."
When he didn't answer, I turned to look at him, "Caleb."
