Chapter 6

I twirled around the pink and blue floral printed dress I wore then looked straight at the mirror. It was sleeveless (spaghetti straps to be exact), a sweetheart neckline and a skater skirt at the bottom that fell only 2 inches above the knee.

I twirled again, loving the feeling of the smooth cloth. “What do you think?” I asked Belly who was watching me as she sips on her milk tea.

She was across me, and was sitted on a huge purple velvet couch that serves as a viewing couch for people who want a glimpse of the choice of some clothes. It was a Kait and Belly bonding day she said since she was free. Not literally from my brother, but she had enough time to spare for both of us since my brother was out for footie practice.

“What do I think?” she repeated, her voice a little more intense. I nodded, not knowing what I should exactly say but I grin like an idiot at her and feel the smooth cloth against my skin.

She squirmed in her seat and grin back at me. “I think you should buy it. It’s my favorite of all the clothes you bought today,” she said.

“It’s my favorite too. “ I head back to the dressing room and change to my clothes.

“Miss?” the sales lady asked politely for the dress. I handed it to her along with a few clothes I picked.

“Thanks, “I said. She quickly goes to the counter and puts my clothes in the counter.

Belly and I both stepped out of the store laughing. “Okay, next stop are shoes to match these babies,” I said, gesturing the shopping bags we both had in our hands. “My treat.”

She laughs, her red hair bouncing.

“Where are you going?” she asked as I head off to the left side of the shopping road.

“To the shoe gallery?”I replied, unsure of what to really say.

“Uh, no you silly. The shoe gallery is over there,” she said, pointing to the right side of the road.

“Wow,” I whistle, “you know this place better than I do. You were a transferee last year right? God, you have one amazing memorization skills,” I shook my head in disbelief how the town has changed so much and she just chuckles in response.

“Who are you texting?” I asked, trying to get a peek at her phone. “Keith?” I asked, guessing.

She shook her head in response. I frown at her.

She sees my reaction and gives me an assuring smile. “Don’t worry it’s just my cousin.”

I smile at her as we move forward in our line. Surprisingly, the store had some serious problem with their cash registers that only one was still working so now they were stuck in a line. If it weren’t for the killer heels to die for, they wouldn’t take their chances in waiting.

I bought two pairs of shoes, one was a hot pink stiletto that had a few gems decorated at the front part, and the second one were wedges that were hand drawn and clearly, it was limited edition. Belly, on the other hand bought baby blue wedges that were simple but had that elegant effect.
