Chapter 13

It had been  f*cking four days since ‘that’ dilemma. I locked myself in my room and cried my bawls out for three days asking myself what I lacked and was I ever enough. But the answer was so obvious; it made me cry over it again.

Of course, Kace went to our house more than the days in a week. I refused to see him, I didn’t want to see his face, at least, for now. I probably should’ve kicked his balls last time because that could have been way satisfying and more interesting.

On the fourth day, I received an early morning wake up call. My phone vibrated and rang annoyingly.  I am in misery, there ain’t nobody who can comfort me, oh yeah. Why won't you answer me? The silence is slowly killing me, oh yeah.

Urgh, Why did I chose that as a ringtone again?

I glanced at the clock on my nightstand-3:39 am. “Urgh. What?” I asked in a groggy voice, my eyes blinking rapidly.

“I can’t sleep,” he said, his voice husky.

“Seriously Kyle? It’s f*cking 3:39 am and that’s why you called?” I asked, annoyed at him.

“No,” his reply cut short. “I’ve been thinking,” I heard him sigh, “how about we go on a road trip today? Later at 7 I guess?” he asked.

I yawned, “Sure. Where to?”

“Somewhere where there’s just us. No problems. Just us, enjoying the moment,” he replied.

Listening to him half asleep, I didn’t mind how cheesy it was but if were wide awake, I would’ve snickered and teased him gay. “Okay, just let me catch some sleep first. Bye Ky,” I whispered before yawning loudly.

After I said that, I heard him say goodbye too. I wasn’t sure but I think I heard an ‘I love you Kait’. Eh, I’m probably just imagining things.

Just exactly one o’ clock sharp, Ky arrived in his red Porsche Panamera GTS. It was obviously sleek and new. I whistled as he came towards me. “Nice car, Rivers.”

He shrugged like it was no big deal. Well it really wasn’t since money was not a problem to them. Or to us.

I admit than I’m kind of girly yet I was slightly boyish inside. I had a love for guns and cars rather than doll houses and Barbie dolls. All thanks to my influential brother.

I brought a backpack with me with just enough necessities that would last the whole day and the next day. I also brought a big water container that had enough water for both of us. I easily dehydrate so I always had to make sure to bring water.

He offered to carry my backpack and I nodded, only carrying the water container with me.  Ky and I didn’t have any breakfast yet so we dropped by the nearest 24 hours café on our way.

There were only a few people present in the café, mostly college students studying. As we passed by, I could feel every pair of eye was looking our way. I couldn’t exactly blame them because let’s face it Kyle was the definition of hot.

Today he chose to wear a collared blue, white, and black polo matched with jeans and Sperry shoes.  Seriously, this guy could wear anything and still be hot.

We also ordered an extra box of doughnuts and two cups of coffee, just in case. Kyle told me to quickly eat my meals because our destination was quite far from South Carolina.
