~~Barry's POV~~
To understand what I'm about to tell you, you need to do something first. You need to believe in the impossible. Can you do that? Good, because all of us, we have forgotten what miracles look like.Maybe because they haven't made much of an appearance lately. Our lives have become ordinary, but there is someone out there who is truly extraordinary. I don't know where you came from. I don't know your name, but I have seen you do the impossible to protect the city I love. So for those of us who believe in you and what you're doing, I just want to say thank you.
I read and smiled and grabbed Iris and brought her up to the roof of Jitters.
"You're welcome," I said with a smirk.
"How did you?- I literally just hit send," she said amazed.
"Speed reading," I answered.
"It's crazy what you can do to your voice."
"You need to stop writing your blog."
"People need to know that you exist," she said then she heard her phone ring, she pulled it out and then put it back in her pocket, "What else can you do?"
"This is not an interview."
"Come on, You got to give me something," she said, she was persistent, "Hobbies, pet peeves, favorite color? Wait, scratch that last one. Red, duh, obviously."
"You're not hearing me," I said slightly annoyed.
"My hearing is fine. It's just selective. What should I call you?" She asked and I circled around her and she turned around to face me.
"Anything but The Streak," I answered.
"Fine. Suggestions?"
"You said you were writing about me to bring hope to someone you care about. How would he feel if doing that put you in harm's way?"
"He and I aren't exactly on the same page these days. Besides, you're giving hope to a lot of people, so I'm doing this for them," she answered and I sighed. I then heard sirens in the distance.
"To be continued. Gotta run," I say smirking and running off.
"Hey! You can't just leave me up-Here," Iris said but before she finished I brought her back down to the shop.
I ran off and when I arrived I saw a yellow Humvee and a kid not paying attention.
"Son! Out of the way! Out of the way!" I heard Joe yelling. I quickly grabbed the kid before he got run over and set him down across the road. I heard gunshots but the car continued going forward.
I ran at it taking the side mirror with me and stopped right in front of it a metal fence behind me. The car slammed to a stop.
"Step out of the vehicle!" I say.
"If you say so," the man said opening the door and pulling it off the car easily.
"Uh-oh," I said as he did that and then I quickly dodged the door as he threw it slamming it into the fence behind me. I ran at him punching him in the jaw but his skin changed to a metal color and it felt cold and hard. I felt pain shoot up from my hand all the way up to my shoulder. I yelled in pain and held my now deformed hand. I felt pain in my jaw and I was tossed like a rag doll over the Humvee and I slammed into the ground. I groaned and spit the blood out of my mouth. The man bent down and faced me.
"Looks like you were born to take a beating," he said and I zoomed off before he buried me in the ground.
