~~~~Holly's POV~~~~
Oh, the weather outside is frightful but the fire is so delightful and since we've no place to go let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
Christmas music played softly in the background as we, me, Barry, and Joe, decorated Joe's Christmas tree.
It'd been a couple months since Bivilo and me and Barry had talked more about my dad, as hard as it was.
Barry was wearing a nice green shirt, that happened to make his green eyes pop. Over time, I had fallen for Barry, it was stupid. We were best friends. I couldn't mess up our relationship because I had feelings for him.
"There's only two boxes left," Joe said taking me out of my thought.
"You know, at this rate, we'll be finished by easter," Barry sighed from the couch.
"Don't even," Joe said as Barry gotten a idea, but it was to late. Barry zoomed around the tree decorating it.
"Okay, the only red-suited dude I want in this house right now is Kris Kringle, you got it?" Joe said and Barry sighed and undid all his work. Joe laughed and Barry sat back down on the couch. I joined him and sighed. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders like he always did, but now, whenever he did it, I wished it was for a different reason
"Uh, these ornaments are not gonna hang themselves," Iris said walking in with mugs.
"Mm-hmm," Barry mumbled.
"Grandma Esther's recipe Light on the bourbon," Iris said with a wink as she handed us each a mug.
"Mmm. I always loved her definition of light," Joe said taking a sip. "And the Christmas tradition continues," he said as his phone ringed, "Detective West. Yeah? All right. Sorry, kids, the D.A. wants to ask me some questions. Make sure there's some nog left for me when I get back."
"No promises," Barry said quietly making me smile.
Once Joe left Iris laughed and took Barry's cup and arms.
"What's happening? Hey," Barry said.
"Come on," Iris beamed.
"Oh, come on, we're doing this already? Christmas isn't for a few days."
Iris and Barry sat on the floor handing their presents to each other.
"I couldn't wait any longer."
"Oh, wait, me first."
"Okay."
Iris yanked the paper away like a little kid. The wrapping paper revealed a velvet box and I felt my chest tighten. Iris opened it and gasped.
"My mother's wedding band?"
"A replica, yeah. You were devastated when you lost the real one. Our fifth-grade field trip"
"To the zoo," they both said at the same time.
"You cried for weeks. Here," he said helping her put it on.
"You remembered."
"Yeah. Steel trap," Barry chuckled.
"I don't know what to say. My gift so sucks in comparison."
"No."
Barry opened his present revealing a microscope.
"It's supposed to be the best one on the market. I thought you could maybe use a new one. It's lame, I know."
"No, no, this is great. I love it.
"Yeah? Yeah, of course."
We then heard a knock on the door and Eddie entered. Iris jumped up and went to him, kissing him.
