Chapter 19

At school in Monday everyone seemed to ask me if I knew who the mystery girl was. I said I didn't and they moved onto Robert or Alex. The great thing was that Austin could keep a secret and he wasn't going to give up unless he was going to get killed. Everyday of the week was filled with the same drama. Girls crying over boys, boys asking girls to the dance, girls then rejecting that guy. It was pure madness. No one seemed to even try and teach us anything. All class everyone would just spread rumors. I was part of some. One was that Cody and I went to the movies, which we did, and I gave him a hand job. That rumor was pretty ridiculos and no one believed it because I wasn't that type of girl. Then a guy who asked me to the dance who I rejected because I was going with someone else started a rumor that Alex and I had sex and I was pregnant. Most people believed that one minus the pregnant part. I said it wasn't true and the girls rolled their eyes. They even had the nerve to ask me if he was good. I yelled at them that we didnt have sex and that shut everyone up. The last rumor was that I was going with Austin to the dance. That one was true.

"Hi, welcome to Insperations. How can I help you?" The lady asked.

"Hi, we're here to look for a dress for my daughters Winter Carnival dance." My mom said.

"Oh fun! What color were you thinking?"

"I was leaning at purple." I said.

"That will look great with your hair. What length?" She questioned.

"Short but not too short."

"Okay." She was typing away into her computer. The store wasn't very large but there was a lot of space. I could see a lady picking her wedding dress and I could see a girl picking a dress for her 16th birthday party. In San Antonio Sweet 16's were huge.

"Okay so we have a selection of 20 dresses that match your wantings. Mom you sit here and she'll go pick a consultant who will help her."

"Okay that sounds great thank you." My mom said as she took a seat. I went and picked a consultant who was about the age of my mom. I told her about what I wanted then she went and picked five of the dresses. As soon as she walked into the dressing room I saw my dress. It was a light purple, almost lilac, with a sequin embriodered emipire waist. I put it on and looked in the mirror.

"Can I go show my mom?" I asked.

"Of course go right ahead!" she said. I ran out of the dressing room.

"Mom! Look! Isn't it wonderful?" I said spinning around causing the bubble skirt to spin.

"Hunny, you look beautiful." She said.

"Ahh! This is going to be great!" I said smiling. We paid and left the store. As we drove home we gabbed about how I was going to do my hair, my make up, and what shoes I would wear. Winter Carnival was the next day and the dance comittee was busy setting up the gym. I only knew this because I had to go to drivers ed that night. My birthday was so close. Okay a month away but still! I was almost 16! I can almost drive! We got home and I sat on my bed and just looked at the dress. It was gorgeous. I was texting Austin about it but not giving away anything.

Austin: What color?

Me: Secret!

Austin: This is not fair!):

Me: Uh, no. Its totally fair(; i gotta go. when are you picking me up tomorroww?

Austin: okay, 6, see you then.(:

Me: okay byee

This was going to be perfect, so perfect.
