Chapter 28

"Alex, What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Sam, I think we need to talk."

"And, did I not say, I don't want to talk to you." I said.

"Sam, we were friends. Can't we just go back to that? You too Austin. I miss my bro." Alex said.

"Don't call me bro. When you do this kind of thing to a, as you said, friend, you don't get do overs." Austin said.

"Please, I'm begging." Alex said.

"Alex, if you don't leave, I'm calling the cops. Now please, just go away. It'd be best for all of us." I said strict and trying not to look into his eyes which were tearing up.

I closed the door and watched outside one of my windows to see Alex leave.

"I feel bad.." I said to Austin turning away as Alex looked up.

"Me too. But, Sam, he just.. doesn't deserve to be forgiven." Austin said sighing.

"I know. But, Austin, he has no one left.."

"Sam, I'll talk to him later. Okay?" Austin said.

"Okay, Dani and I are going to the mall so I can buy an outfit for Saturday. I dunno what time but we're going." I said laughing and falling onto my bed.

"Tired?"

"Yes!"

"So what are you buying?" Austin asked.

"A dress? I don't know. Why?"

"Oh nothing. I just thought, uh, my mom is going out of town tomorrow for business and I thought that you could maybe come after the party..."

"I'll think about it." I said blushing. "And since your mom is going away why don't you go spend some time with her?!"

"You're more important." He said smiling.

"Smooth. But no. Go spend time with your mom and come over tomorrow." I said giving him a kiss.

"Before I leave, I just wanna say I love you." He said.

"You're adorable. And I love you too." I said putting my arms around his neck and kissing him gently. As he walked out he smiled back at me. I loved that kid so freaking much.

(Austin's POV)

"Mr. and Mrs. Smith?" I asked walking into the kitchen.

"Austin! How nice to see you! It's soo great what you're doing for Sam's birthday! She's so excited!" Sam's mom, Karen, said.

"It's nice to see you too. It's the least I could do. Sam's such a great girl." I said smiling.

"That's real nice of you to say son. Our Sammy is our whole life." Her dad, Daniel, said.

"I didn't mean to bother you.. I just needed to ask you about something." I said.

"Austin, you're never a bother! What is it hunny?" Karen said.

"Well, I got asked to go to Atlantic Records on Monday and I was wondering if Sam could accompony me since my mom is going to be out of town." I said nervous.

"Sure! Sam's a good student. She'll be able to catch up. How long are you going to be gone?" Karen said. Daniel looked shocked that she had agreed but didn't object.

"I actually don't know. It depends on what happens. I guess maybe a week?" I said. This was the final moment. It was either Yes or No now.

"Okay. Does she know about this?" Daniel said. I was very surprised.
