I got up early but not as early as yesterday. I took a shower the night before and curled my hair this morning. I had to look extra good today so I planned ahead on what I was going to wear. I went to my closet and grabbed the neatly folded pile of clothes. I picked out a pair of faded skinny jeans, a white tank top, a blue stripped crop top and a pair of white Pastry high-tops. I examined every aspect of my outfit to make sure I looked my best. I then applied my make-up. I usually only wore mascara but today I applied a little foundation and a tad more mascara. I took the bus to school today and it wasn't too bad. Alex and Austin decided to walk because they had to get something. I don't know, they're weird. So I road the bus all by myself. The guys got to school before me so when I got to homeroom they were already there.
"Heey!" I said with a small wave and a big smile.
"Hi!" they both said.
"Sam, I texted you last night. Did you lose your phone?" Austin asked.
"No, I never got anything." I lied "I texted Alex then my phone got shut off because I got THIS!" I said whipping out my new white iPhone with an orange case.
"No cell phones!" Mr. Dixon yelled. I quickly put it away.
"Is that the new iPhone?" Austin asked.
"No, it's a Blackberry. Of course it's the new iPhone! My parents bought it for me because I'm "upset" about the move." I said using air quotes.
"You aren't upset any more?" Robert asked overhearing the last bit of my sentence.
"No, I'm not. I like it here." I said, flashing a smile to Alex in which he returned.
"Well, thats good." Robert added. Then a kid walked into the room.
"Is Samantha Smith here?" he asked.
"Uh, right here." I said raising my hand. The boy was kind of chubby and looked like a freshman. He had his hands behind his back awkwardly.
"I was told to give these to you." he said pulling out a small bouqet of bright pink, yellow, and orange flowers.
"Well, thanks!" I said smiling. I looked at Alex and he shot me a wink. I laughed.
"Everyone in their seats while I take attendence!" Mr. Dixon said and we sat down. Robert and Austin were at the table across from Alex and I.
"Did you seriouslly get me flowers?" I whispered.
"Yeah, do you like them?" he asked concerned "I didn't know what kind you liked so I picked out some colors I know you like."
"They're perfect." I said ask I smelled them.
"For a perfect girl." he said grabbing my hand. I couldn't help but laugh. I was nothing close to perfect.
---------------------------------------------------
It was the last class of the day. Alex walked me to the choir room.
"Meet me right here at three." he said.
"Okay." I said smiling.
"Okay, well I better get to class. See you at three." He said and walked away. I was just heading towards the door when he grabbed my arm and quickly kissed my cheek and ran off. I laughed so loud he heard me and turned around and winked. I walked into the room and set down my stuff and went to my spot.
"Today in class we will be holding auditions for the solos in Moves Like Jagger. If you want to audition please come up to the piano." Mrs. Williams said. I saw a few girls go up and a few guys. There weren't many people in the choir anyways but it was still small competition. I figured, getting the solo would help meet some people so I went up too. As soon as I got up there I noticed Austin was up there too.
"Boys will go first because they have the larger role. Ladies stand over here." she instructed. "Austin, would you like to go first?"
"Sure." he said sweetly. Mrs. Williams started the CD and Austin began to sing.
"Just shoot for the stars, if it feels right, then aim for my heart, if you feel like it take me away, and make it okay, I swear I'll behave," he sang. His voice was incredible.
"Thank you Austin. Brandon you're next." Mrs. Williams called a short blonde freshman boy up and he was scared to death. He stopped as quick as he started. The poor thing. Mrs. Williams proceded to call up the remainder of boys. "Okay girls! Let's hear it!" She said excitedly. A girl walked up and probably, no offense, would have been better off screaming than singing. You could tell her voice was not able to handle Christina Aguilera.
"Next!" Mrs. Williams said smiling sympatheticly at the girl who had just gone. I was up. I was nervous, but not so nervous that I was going to forget the lyrics. I knew Moves Like Jagger by heart. It was my jam. She began the Cd and I started to sing.
"You wanna know, how to make me smile, take control, own me just for the night, and if I share my secret, you're gonna have to keep it, nobody else can this. So watch and learn, I won't show you twice, head to toe, oooh baby run and hide, but if I share my secret, you're gonna have to keep it, nobody else can see this ay! ay! ay! aaay!" I didn't know if I did good or bad because Austin, Mrs. Williams and half of the choir was staring at me, mouths dropped.
"That was... the most impressive representation of Aguilera's voice I have ever heard." Mrs. Williams said in shock. I just looked at her with a blank expression. To be compared like that to Christina Aguilera is amazing. People at my old school said I could sing in her range and stuff but never made such staements.
"Why thank you, but I'm not that great." I said humbly walking away.
"Samantha Smith! That was amazing!" Austin said as he ran up behind me.
"And you weren't?" I said.
"Haha, thanks." Austin replied to my compliment and walked away to talk to some of the other girls in the chorus.
------------------------------------------
I walked out of the choir room and recieved about twenty high-fives. I felt on top of the world. I got in the spot where Alex had told me to meet him at three and waited. It was 2:58 so I had a couple of minutes and I pulled out my phone. I decided to try and call Kristy. I found her in my contact list and press the call button. It rang a few times then went to voicemail. She ignored it. I could tell because she didn't want it to appear that her phone is off but she doesnt want it to ring. I put my phone back in my bag and as soon as I stood up straight I was swooped up and put on someone's shoulder. Alex.
"Well, hi to you too!" I yelled in his ear. He put me down and gave me a tight hug.
"Hi, shall we?" he said offering me his arm. I laughed but linked arms with him anyways. We headed to the park. Carefully crossing the road. We got honked at a few times but we just laughed at it. We arrived and throwed our stuff against a tree. I stood against the tree looking at the town when Alex came up and tazered me.
"ALEX!" I screamed. I chased him around the tree until he feel on the ground exahausted. I stepped on his stomach and posed like a statue. He laughed then asked for me to help him up. Dumbly I reached for his hand and he pulled me down with him. Luckily I landed on him, which broke my fall and hurt him.
"Mwahaha!" I yelled in his face.
"You are evil!" He said rolling over.
"No, dont roll ov-" I started to say as I rolled onto the ground.
"Payback!" he yelled as he began to laugh.
"You think thats funny? We'll you're gonne pee yourself now." I said jumping on top of him again.
"Ahhh!" he faked.
"That's not nice." I said frowning.
"Okay, I'll be nice now." he said.
"Good!" I said smiling.
"Since I'm being nice you need to be nice too." he pointed out.
"But, that's no fun." I said with a disappointed look as I got off of him.
"Now, since you were nice, I'm going to give you a present."
"A PRESENT!?!?!" I yelled jumping up and down causing everyone in the park to stare at me.
"Well come here if you want it!" I ran right over expecting him to pull out a pie of something he pulled me into a hug.
"This isn't a very good present." I said. "I wanted pie." I said jokingly.
"I lied. There is no present.." he said smiling.
"Alex!" I said pushing him and going to sit by the tree. He followed me so I kept going around the tree then he figured me out and we ran right into each other. He looked me in the eye then I said to him,
"Are you gonna kiss me or not?" then he did. You kow that one kiss you'll remember your whole life, your first one, well mine was with Alex. We pulled away and all I could do was smile so much that he started laughing.
"Laughing at me is not gonna get you any more of that!" I said turning away from him but before I could get up and run he grabbed me by my waist and started smuthering me with kisses.
"Eww! Cooties!" I said screaming. He laughed and we got got up and left the park and walked back to our houses. We held hands as we walked as slow as possible. All the buses passed us and some of Alex's friends yelled out the window to him. He just ignored them and we kept on talking. He was so sweet even when people threw stuff at him he just paid all his attention to me.
"So, Sam, I was thinking while we were at the park," he started. Was he going to ask me out? What if I said yes too quickly? What if I don't say it quickly enough? "thinking about us, and if it's okay with you, I want you to be my girl. Now, don't anwser me right this second. Sleep on it okay?" he said as we arrived at my driveway.
"Okay." I said trying not to smile so much that he's start to laugh. He pulled me into a hug. Not as tight as yesterdays but it was still enough to almost cut off my curculation.
"I'll see you tomorrow at the bus stop." he said kissing my forehead. I smiled and walked up to my house. I turned round to see him smiling like a fool and basically jumping up and down. I laughed as quietly as I could and walked inside. I was so tired I went upstairs, took a shower, then went to bed. I know Alex told me to think about it but honestly, all I could think about was how amazing my life was going right now. I was possibly the most happy and lucky girl on earth
