Lifeless [ #wattys2016]

fear, stress, worry , happiness and gratefulness.

Yesterday's events couldn't have gone better. I thought that everyone would understand about the situation. It isn't like we want to move but if this man is somewhere shouldn't we be prepared. Tara hasn't left her own room since. Except for breakfast, dinner and lunch I mostly speak to Ava but that is only because I need to know more about what we are up against. I also haven't seen Tara's droopy flower in a while. Lunch soon rolls around and everyone is gathered in the dining room chatting together or laughing at a joke. Except Tara she is scribbling down in her journal, she hasn't even touched her food. I get up from my seat and go to her and gently squeeze her shoulders she jumps, quickly shuts her journal before relaxing when she knows I am behind her.

"Hey what's that you got there?" I ask

"Oh this it's nothing." she says but her words if you listen closely tremble. She's lying.

I turn her face to me and look straight at her "You know you can trust me right?" I say sincerely

She visibly gulps and nods her head before leaving and dashing off to her room.

She doesn't trust me.

I don't let it go and follow her quietly to her room. luck is on my side because it seems like she forgot to lock her door in the haste that she was in. I tiptoe quietly into her room. I look over her shoulder to see her journal open with many scribbles and drawings. Then it clicks she's making an escape plan without me. She notices my presence and turns around.

"what are you doing in my room?" she inquires

"I came to check on you, what are you planning?" I say directly

"It is none of your concern, shut the door on your way out." she says and turns back around

"If you think for a second that I am going to allow you to do this alone then you are wrong"

She turns around. "Aiden I know you care about me and you know I care about you too but this isn't your fight it's mine and I don't want to drag anyone I care about into it." she says strongly

"we can defeat this guy together if only you let me in." I say hopefully

"No! don't you get it. I don't want you to get involved because... I ... I can't risk losing you, you mean way too much to me." her voice quivering

"I can't be the cause of your death." she says quietly

"Why do you always think I'm going to die; don't you trust me"! I shout

"No! okay no because the last time I put my faith into someone they betrayed me." her voice cracking

The room is silent the walls absorbing all the words. I see the fear swimming in her brown irises. I slowly walk closer to her, I didn't even know there was space between us. I take her chin in my hand and her eyes look into mine. "Look we have always been a team you and I, and that's how it's going to be." She wants to argue back but in the end we both know she can't. she knows I'm right. She needs me just as much as I need her. I embrace her small body that moulds perfectly with mine. She sighs contently before gripping my shirt and bringing my head to the same level as hers, her breathing is heavy. Her lips attack mine I can feel all the words she wants to say that are unsaid through the kiss. I can feel every emotion from fear, stress, worry to happiness and gratefulness. My fingers find hers and they lock. And when the kiss is over our fingers never leave each other. I sigh contently the questions I still have can wait till tomorrow because standing in this position with this girl is all I want to do right now.
