Lifeless [ #wattys2016]

anyone care to explain? and will my questions finally be answered?

I noted that Tara had left for quite some time and hadn't been back. So I decided to check up on her, first going to her room to see if she was busy, I knocked on her door and waited for a response. When I didn't hear nothing I knocked again, the same thing happened. I then opened the door and saw that her bed was empty and everything was untouched. I raced down knowing exactly where she would be.

I opened the basement door revealing Tara exchanging words with our enemy. To say i was shocked was an understatement. I was bewildered in all honesty. But then again Tara was unpredictable. They both looked like they were caught stealing from a shop and I thought I head Tara say oh man.

What's going on here? I demanded.

She sighed and came over to me ready to give me an explanation.

"Look I came down here to ask him more questions but I haven't gotten far from just knowing his name really."

"Why didn't you call me, I thought we were in this together?"

"We was... I mean we are!" aware of her mistake I took out my anger out on her

"We was? Since you clearly didn't need me to help you I'll be off then." I said trying to not let the hurt be apparent in my voice

"No Aiden just let me explain!" She said desperately

"Save it clearly I am not needed on this mission and you have everything sorted out !" I shouted

"Aiden it's not even like that just let me explain" I said seriously

I couldn't stand to hear her voice any longer , the fact that she went behind my back and started to question the enemy! I thought we were starting to get closer no more secrets. I don't think I was angry at this situation but just the little things she does and now was the time I exploded.

Walking back up I checked up on Ava to see her watching a TV programme. So I decided to invite Fred over.

What just happened? I knew It was Aiden knocking but I didn't know that by me questioning the enemy would get him so wound up. I was pacing back and forth not knowing what to do. I looked over to Justin who was smiling lazily like the whole think was funny.

"Talk about awkward timing." Justin inputted

"Just shut up!" I shouted

"Woah, no need to take your anger out on me." he said defensively

I sighed Justin was right. Look can you just cooperate and answer the questions I have truthfully.

For once it looked like he is about to agree.

"So how did you really find us?" I asked

"My boss and his team felt like something odd was going on, so he asked me and other men to go check it out. When we realized it was human activity we reported you it straight away." he said

"Why didn't you approach us then?" I queried

"We had to keep ourselves hidden." He said

"Why did you attack me then?" I inquired

"Well we had been spying on you for some time and we told our boss the description of each of your faces. And since you was the only one that was black he was really interested in you don't know why so don't ask. Then we told him you always held a flower and his mood changed. He started shouting saying any chance you get attack her and get the flower!" he said

It was all coming together now, finally making sense. I was attacked purposely my flower was really important.

"One more thing. Someone in your group will betray you. I can sense it." He said

I didn't pay him no mind, I wish I did though.

"Well thanks for answering I will have more questions but I have to sort things out with Aiden you know." I said

"He really likes you by the way." He said knowingly

I was stunned but I brushed his comment off with a laugh. Strictly professional I told myself.

I searched everywhere for Aiden. His room. The living room. The kitchen. But then it struck me how could I be as silly as to not check his office.

I was about to knock on the door when I heard talking, it was Aiden's and I think Fred's. I know what you guys may be thinking. I shouldn't have listened and I should of left but I was curious.

"Look Fred, I don't know what to do anymore. She didn't tell me she was going to do this and if I were to do it she would be mad at me. It's frustrating. She can be frustrating. I don't even think I'm mad at her for this , I think it's just everything she does. I'm trying man I really am. I don't want to give up. He says frustratingly

"Dude I know where you are coming from, but just talk to her at the end of the day you two are in this together. You need to get along. " he said sternly

"Like I said before I am trying, I really am. But it doesn't help when something in me is pulled towards her and it also doesn't help when she's practically a closed book and won't allow me in close proximity." He said sadly

"Just take it slow with her." Fred said

I had no idea that Aiden felt this way. I didn't have a clue that he spoke about me to Fred. I walked away the prospect of solving things and telling the information to Aiden long gone. I did something I hadn't done in a long time.

I wrote in my journal.
