There they sat, finally officially a couple, both of them were happy. They decided to stay at her apartment for most of the day, Ginger was still competing so after making breakfast she would have to eat and leave.
She finished up cooking and all of them sat down. Ginger ate swiftly staring at her younger brother and Cass as she gulped down bites of food. "So." She would pause between words so she could take bites "Don't. Do. Anything. Upsetting. While. I'm. Gone."
They both nodded and Ginger finished eating so she put her plate and silverware in the kitchen sink and slipped her boots on while also putting on her coat. "Behave, I'll be back tonight, bye." She said leaving after they said their farewells to her.
They both finished up eating and then sat down on the couch, Lyle's arm was around Cassie's shoulders and she was cuddled up close to him. Bandit sat next to Lyle, and Lyle pet him every so often as a reassurance method.
"So what do you wanna do today Lyle?" Cassie asked smiling and looking up at him. "Spend it with you, here, I can order food if you'd like even though that isn't much of a date." He said, his smile was hard to describe, it was more joyful than it had been before.
"I'm fine with that, there's a Chinese takeout place nearby, we could get that." She replied, gazing at him, not a specific part of him just all of him, she thought he was perfect. "Sounds nice, I'm good with that."
They both proceeded to watch TV. The day went onward and they watched and told stories, still cuddling. They laughed and smiled and ended up renting a romantic comedy to watch because "rom coms are best coms" as Cass once said.
They ordered food in the middle movie and it arrived toward the end. They ate their takeout and watched until the end, when during the credits Cass spoke after gulping down a mouthful of noodles, "Man that movie sucked." Lyle agreed.
"It could've been great but the dog died and that ruined it all. I thought this was supposed to be a comedy, who laughs at bad jokes and dead dogs." He said and Cass chuckled at his comment. "Some bad jokes are good but dead dogs are never good to be completely honest." She said and they finished up eating.
At the moment it was five in the evening, they had eaten sandwiches for lunch and spent most of the day cuddling, her head pressed close to his chest where she could feel his warmth. She also held his hand, his skin was soft and smooth, it was calming to feel.
They watched more TV and it started to get late, they both took showers separately and got dressed into whatever they slept in. They both laid down on the couch, both laying on their side with Lyle's back hitting the back of the couch. Cass laid right in front of him on her side so her back was on him.
He had his arm over her, she held the hand that was over her. A bit later she fell asleep, he switched around, moving carefully and quietly so that he was facing toward the ceiling and she was on top of him doing the same. Her head rested on his chest and she slept soundly, he had put a blanket overtop of them and a pillow down beneath his head and he fell asleep. He had his arms around her.
Ginger walked in an hour later, seeing them she silently headed toward the guest room where she did what she needed before finally laying down and going to sleep. All was well.
