Her thoughts were racing, her heart rate was fast, and her stomach was in knots. She took a breath and finally said it flat out. "I love you."
His eyes went wide and his face red. He looked over at her, trying to think of the right words to say. His entire body warmed up a little bit out of how flustered he was. "I. Love. You. Too." His words had pauses in them and it looked like he was having trouble saying them.
Her face was red and she smiled. "It's pretty late, do you think we should figure the rest of this out tomorrow?" She asked, before being able to say anything else he put his head on her shoulder. "You make me the happiest I've ever been Cass."
She blushed and before she could thank him he looked up at her smiling, his smile was the most sincere genuine smile she had ever seen him smile. "If you're tired we can figure the rest out tomorrow but I just have one more thing to say."
"Hmm what's that?" She asked waiting for him to speak. "Thank you for giving me a reason to continue to go on, even just being friends means the world to me." At that one sentence she almost started crying. They hugged and it was long and silent, but it was also welcoming and warm.
Eventually Cass went back to sleep and Lyle slept too, they both slept until about eleven in the afternoon Lyle waking up before Cass and then going to wake her up. Once he did she sat up immediately and he sat down beside her. Ginger made breakfast and they both talked about everything and how to go about it.
Probably not my best work I'm aware but I'm super tired and it's pretty late plus I started school so writing is put off until awful hours. Well anyway thanks for reading!
