They have now been married for about a year. They've had their ups and downs but all in all they were satisfied. Satisfied with the fact that they were together and nothing changed that which was one of the best facts either of them ever knew.

Now it was about October the leaves were falling and of course it was a day like any other day, she woke up and it was Saturday so Lyle and her were off work.

"Did you hear about that guy who keeps stealing specifically watermelons from markets? I'm in shock they haven't found him yet he's been at this for six months." Cass said, sitting across from Lyle at the table eating breakfast.
"Yea, it's quite humorous though if you think about it." He replied, admiring her from across the table.
"True." She said as she glanced away from him and at the window. "It's gorgeous out today."
"Yea, wanna take Bandit for a walk later?" He said as he got up from the table and cleaned his dishes and hers as she finished eating.

The day was serene as it lagged on until the late afternoon, they walked hand and hand with Bandit and Lyle noticed something. Her breathing was off, "Are you ok Cass?" He asked and she nodded. They turned a few more street corners until suddenly it stopped.

Her breathing stopped and she fell onto her knees, she gasped for air her face reddening the more she tried to breathe. Lyle panicked, this is exactly what he feared and all his thoughts scrambled until there was nothing left to think about.

A nearby elderly woman called emergency services and Lyle rushed to help her as best he could. When they arrived she was already unconscious and she was sent to the nearest hospital.

Lyle was a mess, of course he was worried as his wife was now in the hospital with a collapsed lung and had a fifty fifty chance of survival. He sat at the hospital as he went through hours of doctors speaking to him and seeing her. She was pale and unconscious, unable to breathe on her own she used a breathing machine and a plethora of stabilisers.

A few days passed and they couldn't find a lung for her but in the mean time things were looking good. They traced it back to the car accident that happened years prior but now she was awake and spoke with Lyle about how she refused to give up as he spent countless hours with her, trying to make her feel comforted.

One morning he went to visit her and as he sat with her she said one phrase, "Lyle, I love you." She trailed off and immediately it all stopped. Everything stopped and she fell into an abyss of darkness as her eyes closed slowly and they closed infinitely.
