{Edit: yes honeymoons are usually lust filled sin fests with no regrets, but I just feel like that'd be pretty uncharacteristic for them not gonna lie, so enjoy this sinless fluff stuff, no smut you fucks.}
They woke up as regular the day after their wedding, they went to see their families before they went off to various places for their honeymoon. They visited Cassie's family first, her family was more strict and uptight compared to Lyle's family but they were still polite to the newly weds.
They discussed the wedding for awhile before Cass and Lyle headed out to Lyle's family, of course everyone was a lot more life filled there and so they stayed for a little before heading home to get on their flight.
They got their luggage and drove to the airport with Bandit, their first stop was Newfoundland, Canada. They went through all the steps needed to board the plane and sat next to each other on the flight. They stopped twice and then landed in St. Johns, it was early in the morning so they checked into their hotel and slept until it was a reasonable hour in the morning.
When they woke up they glumly awoke, sluggishly leaving bed before getting ready and heading out. The first thing they planned to do was visit Petites, an abandoned island that Cass lived on while it was still thriving. Her uncle took them by boat the island and when they got there it was dead silent.
"Is this the place?" Lyle asked as they both stepped off the boat, Cassie telling her uncle she'll text him when to pick them up.
"Yea, It's so weird to see it empty." She said, walking along the shore line with Lyle.
"I've never been to anywhere so... Quiet..." He said as they started to walk inland, the sun beat down on them but the breeze resonating from the water kept them cool. Bandit, whom Lyle brought along, enjoyed the chilled breeze and let it hit his face with no reaction.
"It was pretty quiet when it was occupied but never this quiet." She replied, pointing out different houses and places before they reached her old house.
They walked toward the now vacant home, it was average sized and had her maiden name carved in a brick that was part of the wall beside the door of it. The door was decaying so getting in was easy, the house was empty except for a few things that she found. Eventually she found every scrap thing left behind that she could.
"I left stuff behind because I felt like if someone ever lived here again they'd be interested in it. Looking back on it, it's kind of weird how optimistic I was... My mom had just passed away and I had to move out to an entirely different country which was honestly extremely hard." She said, looking through the boxes of handwritten notes, drawings, and photographs she had left.
"You've always been super optimistic Cass, I've always looked up to you for that trait Cassie. It'd be nice to think as positively as you do." He spoke softly looking down at the notes and various items as she smiled.
"Awh, it isn't too much optimism though, just the right amount ya know." She pulled out a few photos of her and her family, explaining what they were like back then and what they were doing in each photo.
The sun was now in the centre of the sky as they headed back to St. John's by boat. When they got back, Cass lead Lyle around the town, they didn't stop to eat though as they already ate a lunch she made and packed them while on the shoreline at Petites.
After looking around she finally decided to go visit her old best friend, Clara, whom she had attended high school with in St. John's. They walked until they reached a Victorian era style house where she knocked and a taller black haired young woman answered the door, she dawned a tank top and jeans and her hair was the exact opposite of her eerily white and pale skin that had a few scattered freckles.
"Hello-oh my god it's you." The woman said as she looked downward at Cass.
"Oh my god it's you." Cass said as they hugged.
"Screw you for not visiting me sooner mate." The woman said, her mix of a Canadian and Scottish accent could be heard as she spoke.
"I'm sorry it's been a busy couple of years, oh yea Clara, this is my husband, Lyle." Cass said as Lyle greeted Clara and Clara greeted him, inviting them inside.
"I'll be, you run off to Stockholm for a few years and you've already gotten yourself a husband with a British accent. Sweden must be doing you some good Cassie." Clara spoke offering them coffee which they both gladly accepted.
"It's nice in Stockholm to be honest, it's got a lot of nice spots to go to." She said as Clara brought them and herself coffee.
They all continued on and on until it was dark out, when they finally decided to leave Clara hugged Cass and told her to visit again sometime which Cass joyfully said of course to. She took Lyle to one more lookout point, she always knew where lookout points were because she's always visit them where ever she lived. This one overlooked the water and they sat staring and chatting amongst each other for another hour before heading back to their hotel.
They fell asleep and spent two more less exciting days in St. John's before going to Hawaii for the rest of their honeymoon. The Hawaii portion was more of them staying on the beach and looking at nature more then anything but nonetheless it was still extremely relaxing.
By the time they got home it had been a week and they both immediately sat down on the couch and watched t.v. as Bandit slept at their feet because a week of traveling is a lot for a dog. The next day Cass put everything she had left behind at her old home in their room at their new home, admiring it before going on with her normal day, she was fine with living an average life as long as she could stay close to him.
