Chapter Twenty Five

Cass woke up at about nine that morning. She went to physical therapy and when she got back to her room she saw Lyle, he sat near her bed with Bandit, smiling. She laid back down and smiled, "What are you doing here so early?" She asked, "I decided I should visit right when visiting hours start, I'm worried that being alone in this hospital has been upsetting you."

"That's so nice, where are William and Nina?" She asked, sitting up in her bed. "They're sleeping still." He took his jacket off, and leaned back in his chair. Cass observed him and noticed, she noticed that amount of scars he had on his wrists, she realised that he still wasn't as mentally stable as he acted, she didn't get mad or upset at him instead she just immediately leaned over and hugged him. She wanted him to feel ok, she wanted him to be fine even though she knew she was far from knowing even half of what he felt.

The room was quiet, she had her arms around him and he had his arms gently around her. "Please try not to do anything like that." Her voice was feint but he immediately realised what she was talking about. "I'm so sorry..." His reply was quiet and elongated due to his apraxia. She stopped hugging him and kissed him, "How old are these?" She asked, he shrugged  "Don't remember." He was quiet and he held her hand, caressing the back of it with his thumb.

"Please don't think I'm mad at you for it." Cassie said looking up at him. He nodded, his facial expression grim. "You know what will make you feel a bit better?" She said, smiling lightly, he looked up at her, "hmm?" "I might be leaving the hospital tomorrow, and if I do you guys can stay at my apartment instead of a hotel." He smiled, "That's great Cass!" He sounded happier, she was relieved that he wasn't as upset.

They continued talking and later William and Nina arrived, they all spoke and the three left at around the same time they had left the previous day. Cassie was officially leaving the hospital the next day, but both Nina and William declined staying at her apartment, William firstly excusing himself with "Ew why would I stay at trashes home it's probably a dump." And Nina punching his arm then replying with "Thanks for the offer but I'd feel bad freely crashing at your place, plus you and Lyle need some alone time ya hear." She winked after saying that which made both Lyle and Cassie turn into flustered messes. They were all at ease.
