Cass woke up to Lyle poking the tip of her nose gently, he smiled when she opened her eyes. She was surprised that the light filling his room, that was covered in vinyls that were framed and hung on the walls, didn't wake her up. "I made you some breakfast." He said, she sat up and smiled, "bless." She replied, she got dressed and followed him down to the meal.

There she was greeted with perfectly made waffles, the maple syrup draping quaintly off the sides and the whipped cream and strawberry topping it off ever so nicely. She sat down and greeted his family as she proceeded to eat. His plate was again almost completely covered in whipped cream, this time even his strawberry wasn't visible because when he added it he decided there wasn't enough cream and added more.

They ate and she talked to his family as he sat quietly eating his plate of whipped cream and maybe waffles, who knows what's in that whipped cream mountain. He always had dark circles under his eyes, he admitted it was because he barely slept when he had school because he stayed up too late studying for tests.

When they finished they both decided to go to the park, they walked and talked as Bandit followed obediently. They sat down on a bench in the park and just talked.
"So how's being here been so far?" He asked.
"Really good." She responded.
"It's really nice having you here Cass."
"It's very nice to be here, you know I've noticed something about you Lyle."
"Hmm?"
"Your apraxia doesn't really affect your speech anymore does it?"
"I went to so much speech therapy that I'm pretty ok at speaking now, I still have those moments of it but for the most part I'm good."
"I'm glad your good."

She stopped as she saw him eyeing the ground, quickly he moved his hand in one swipe and held up a lizard. He was smiling as it stood contently, looking around in the palm of his hand.
"It's like when you used to catch lizards and show me them." She said, smiling as he smiled.
"Exactly, I haven't lost my lizard catching skills eh?" He laughed as he looked down at the lizard before laying it back in the grass below them, it scurried off in the blink of an eye.

She laughed and admired his laugh, she leaned back on the bench. They continued reminiscing for a bit before starting to walk to a local restaurant.they are there and then went back to his place. They sat down and started another conversation.

"Catch me up on everything that happened in between us knowing each other now and as kids, I'd like to hear about how you met Nina and William." She said, he looked kinda surprised when she asked that and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well I moved in with my biological parents and went to middle school where I met William. He was in the same History class as me and I only remember him getting threatened for suspension for yelling out 'Man the French were such bitches to the British, did they have baguettes stuck in each of their asses or...?" And then I spoke to him about it because personally I thought it was a perfect outburst and I met Nina in orchestra because she played cello and I played violin and we always made the shittiest puns about music." He continued, "So how about you?"

"Well I had a friend named Clara and God was she funny. Man we used to get in the weirdest situations, we made our health teacher threaten to retire early because we kept making whistling sounds whenever he mentioned reproduction. I met her in high school and middle school was pretty uneventful, I moved like three times during middle school before finally settling in Canada for all of high school. How was high school for you?" She asked, he responded, "Pretty good, I was in the marching band and stuff so that was all fun." She nodded and they continued talking for a bit before eating dinner by themselves as the rest of his family was away until ten, but by that time they had already showered and went to sleep.
