A day passed, he wouldn't be over it but he had to act like he was over it. He attended his classes and lectures as if it were normal, he acted like nothing happened, even though at any moment he could break down into pure anger and sadness.
He'd claw at his wrists whenever he had the chance, some of the times he scratched them they'd bleed, other times he'd get frustrated with trying and silently give up.
It was after class that day so Lyle went to his dorm, the college he went to wasn't close to his house so he stayed in a dorm with one other person for the week. Usually his roommate wasn't around, he was a short curly dyed blue haired guy named Bobby, who had a comedic and positive outlook on life.
Right when Lyle arrived at the dorm that day, he laid down on his bed. He immediately went on his phone and checked his messages, refreshing over and over again hoping Cass had miraculously messaged and that this time it was actually her.
He got nervous, he was shaking a bit and still clawing at the split open parts of his wrists. He felt sick and anxious and felt like he could start crying at any moment.
He stopped for a second and looked down at his now crimson covered forearm, he started shaking again and nervously walked to go wash all of it off. He stood in the bathroom washing his wrists in the sink, glancing only at the mirror once to mutter one single word at his reflection, "disappointment."
He finished up and walked back to his bed, noticing that he had received a message, he immediately looked at it almost dropping his phone in the process of picking it up. The message was from Cass's sister.
[Tier]: I'm just sending this as a quick update, Cassie isn't looking better or worse, currently she's still out of it and if this goes on for too long and she has no chance of surviving outside of the hospital then pulling her off life support might be an option.
Lyle put his phone down right after reading that, he was happy she wasn't too bad right then, but his despair from the last part of the text was overpowering the happiness.
He laid back and tried to calm down, his thoughts still racing and the one thought, the one awful antagonising thought still echoed through his mind grabbing at the very being of his soul, "It's all your fault, Lyle."
