Chapter 7: Feeling
[Changkyun's POV]
"Changkyun-ah..."
The sweet voice lingered in the air as I tried to locate where the voice came from.
"Changkyun..."
The voice sounded so angelic...
"Changkyun."
The voice came from behind me. I turned around to see who owns it.
"Hi, Changkyun."
The guy had the brightest smile painted on his face, proud of his teeth. It was Hoseok, my seatmate.
"H-Hoseok?"
I was stunned with how his face looked like when he smiled at me. It was the sweetest smile I've ever seen.
"Wake up."
"H-Huh?"
"Breakfast is ready."
I opened my eyes. I almost fell out of my bed when I saw my mother's face hovered over mine.
"What're you dreaming about?" she asked.
"W-What are you talking about mom?" I asked, still confused as to why my mother is inside my room.
"I was shouting at the kitchen calling for you to come down for your breakfast. I walked in here to see if you're readying for school and it turns out that you're still sound asleep. And dreaming too." she explained.
She moved aside as I tried to get myself up. She was about to leave the room when she turned around and asked something.
"By the way, who's Hoseok? You were saying his name while you were asleep."
"N-No one! A-A comic book c-character!" I struggled to answer.
"Okay. Ready yourself and come down for breakfast. You're about to get late."
I looked at the clock and she was right. I need to move faster if I don't want to be late for my 2nd day at school.
-
I arrived at school on time. I still have five minutes before the bell rings. I sprinted myself to our classroom so I won't be marked late today.
"Wait!"
I was only a few rooms far from our door when I shouted at the person entering the room. I stopped there for a while to catch my breath. The bell rang, a sign that everyone should be inside the classroom now. My eyes widened when the person started closing the door.
"WAIT!"
I hurled my way to the classroom and I was surprised to see who stood in front of me. It was my seatmate Hoseok that I was shouting to. He was there standing at doorway.
"Hi." he greeted me.
He sounded soulless.
"H-H-Hi" I greeted back, hardly audible.
He moved to the side so I can enter the room. Thank goodness Mr. Yoo isn't here yet. I went straight to my seat and slumped myself there because of exhaustion.
"Here."
I looked up to see who's talking. It was him, lending me his handkerchief.
"I d-don't need it." I refused, wiping the sweat the trailed down to my cheeks with my bare hands.
"Looks like you do."
He leaned in closer. His left hand made its way to my chin and carefully lifted my face up. He flicked the hair that fell on my forehead and started patting the piece of cloth over the beads of sweat.
*tug-tug... tug-tug... tug-tug...*
What's this feeling?
I could feel my heart pounding really hard. Every beat feels like it's about to explode.
*tug-tug... tug-tug... tug-tug...*
I could feel my face burn red, his touch sending some kind of electricity inside my body, making my toes curl.
It feels weird...
I could feel that everyone in the class is staring at us. I could hear some murmurs and faint conversations as to what was happening at the back of the class.
"Okay class. Back to your seats." Mr. Yoo walked in.
He removed his hand under my chin. He placed the handkerchief on my desk before he sat on his chair.
"Use it." I heard him said before he had his down on his desk to sleep again like he did yesterday.
I just looked at the handkerchief, still processing the things that had happened. Everything felt so weird but one thing is for sure.
I liked it.
