It was never granted.

When Hoseok was at the age of five, he was just like any other kids. He loved exploring everything his hands touches or where his feet drag him. He was loved by his mother so much but his father never batted an eye on him. During this time of his age, his mother would let him got out and explore as long as its within his mother's sight. He gave Hoseok the nickname "Wonho".
His mother gave it to him because she wants Hoseok to grow up to be good man. His mother got that name somewhere before which meant 'desire to be good'. She also explained to Hoseok that only his father and her can only use it because they want it to be 'special'. She believed that if someone or something is given a certain name other than that their real name, it forms a special bond between them.
During the day, he would come out and play with his friends in front of their house while his mother busied herself doing household chores. His father was always out, working somewhere far away from them. He barely sees his father during the weekdays and on weekends, his father just stayed at home, locked up in his room, sleeping. Hoseok was to pure and innocent that time that he doesn't care about the whole around him as long as he's happy.
When he was at the age of twelve, the family he grew up with came falling into pieces. All the questions, secrets and the unclear situations happening in his family, all of them came in like a puzzle he tried solving before when he finally had the chance to voice out all his problems to his mother. Everything happened so fast that he wasn't sure if he can live like a normal child after all the things were revealed.

"Mom? Where are you going?
He asked his mother who was quietly sneaking out all the luggage she packed out of her room. She was surprised to see Hoseok, standing at the doorway of his room, his eyes were puffy from his disturbed sleep. The sun hasn't come out yet when Hoseok was awakened with noise she made earlier when she was talking to someone over the phone. She continued taking out the remaining luggage in her room and closed the door behind her. She walked up to Hoseok slowly and kneeled in front of him to meet his eyes.
"I can't stay here anymore, Wonho."
Hoseok gave her a puzzled look as to why she said that to him. He tried to assess everything that his mother said and looked for the possible reason to why she had to leave their house. He rubbed his eyes and asked her again.
"Why?"
She left the question hanging and stood up to take her luggage downstairs. After bringing them down, she pushed them out of the house and an unknown man came in to their front door and started taking his mother's luggage. Hoseok just watched the man from the balcony upstairs.
