Changkyun's family is just like any other happy families from certain stories that you could've read or heard before. For him, it was the best thing he could ever think of that happened to his life, to think that not all families are the same. For him, his parents were the greatest gifts he could ever receive in his lifetime: a loving mother and a responsible father. Their family was well-maintained, healthy and with that, he knows that everything would be fine. For him, it was like living in a dream.

It was.

When Changkyun was at the age of seven, he felt like he was the center of the world from all the attention he's receiving from his parents. All the things that he wanted were provided by his parents, but he never grew up like any other kids who became a brat after being spoiled by their parents. Changkyun just wished for simple things like coloring books, small toys and food. He never wished for things that he knew he won't be able to use more than once. He would sometimes tell to his mother or father that he'll pay them when he grows up.

Changkyun was very close to his mother and father. He was a very caring child. During the day, he would help his mother do the chores before going out to play with his friends. And at night, he would ask his father if he wants a massage from him. He knew that his father was tired at work.

When he was at the age of nine, everything was so perfect for him, not until an accident happened to them, which scarred him. It was raining that night when the thing that he was afraid of happened, death. His family was on its way home from his father's parents who lived very far away from the city. His father was driving the car whilst his mother was lulling him to sleep at the backseat, his head laying down her lap. He was having a hard time trying to sleep, despite his mother's effort of humming and patting his back because of the thunder that kept on rumbling which he was afraid of.

"Is he asleep?"

He heard his father asked his mother about his current state.

"Not yet."

His mother answered back at his father while shuffling his hair. He felt his father shifted for a bit to shuffle his hair too.

"Don't worry, Changkyun. I'm always here for you."

He felt at ease when he felt his father shuffle his hair. He felt relieved. He felt safe. He started to calm down, the sleep slowly inviting him. He was about to fall asleep but then he was fully awakened when he heard his mother shout at his father.

"WATCH OUT!"

Changkyun can't fully remember what happened right after he heard his mother scream. The only thing he could remember was the blaring noise of a car horn and screeching tires followed by a loud crash which made him fall unconscious. When he woke up, he found himself still inside the car, his head laying down comfortably on his mother's lap with an unbearable, throbbing pain on his head. He slowly adjusted himself and scanned his surroundings which brought chills down his spine with the way it looked from the inside. His mother was unconscious too, with blood flowing down her head which gave him the horror. He started crying out loud, loud enough to bring back his unconscious mother back. She slowly shifted her position so she can see Changkyun clearly.
