Naruto III POV - Chapter 24

Friday - 8:50 pm  

Since Ling and May left yesterday, the Headquarters have been extremely quiet. Only Paula, Cloud, and I remained in here after all. With Cloud constantly brooding in his room, Paula doing who knows what, and me watching Korean drama, its been two slow days.

Ling said they would be returning by today but there's no sign of them at all. We will probably need to go and check on them if they don't return by midnight. At least Snoop and Nicki are supposed to come back today. I want to see them safe in here, just now its dangerous to be out. It was a terrible idea to send Ling and May on their own to Hydra. They could have been caught, or worse...

"Naruto," Paula said in my room's entrance, "do you think... they are safe?"

"Yass," I answered while she entered my room, "they must be. Its Ling & May we r talkin bout."

"I don't know. I just think it was a bad idea to send them off alone. Don't you think?"

"I was thinkin just dat. Maybe, if they dont return 2day we should go 4 dem 2morrow morn."

"Wouldn't it be too late then? Who knows what must have happened to them..."

"Idk... maybe we could ask Cloud 2 go investigate. If he leaves now, he could arrive by dawn."

"Yeah, that may work." She said with a glint of hope in her eyes. "We should ask him then."

"Yass letsagoo." Then I stood up, and we both directed ourselves to Cloud's room.

"Cloud?" I asked when we were in front of the door.

"Come in." He said. I proceeded to open the door and got inside the room. There he was thrown in his bed. Holding a Muppet CD in his hands.

"Are you okay?" Paula asked him.

"I-I want him back." He said.

"Who, Ling?"

"No, well, yes. But I was not talking about him. I want Kermit to come back."

"Y do u care so much bout him?" I asked.

"He is so... weird... and his past, so tragic... I can only feel empathy for the poor guy. Don't get me wrong I want Ness, Lucas, Ling and May back too but I feel bad for him..."

"Don't worry, if Ling and May succeed they will surely bring him back." Paula said.

"If..." Cloud said longing.

"Except, that is exactly the problem. They haven't returned yet and that's enough cause to worry. We are thinking that, maybe, you could go investigate Hydra? You boasted yourself as our new spy and it would be the perfect way to not only save Ling and May but Kermit too."

The proposition probably came out of nowhere to him but he sure looked convinced when he said, "Yes, that's... a great idea. Know what? I will ready myself to leave just now. Maybe I arrive before the sun comes out. I will drive all the way there... only, do you have a map?"

Out of nowhere, Paula pulled out a map detailing where the Hydra HQ resided. She explained every turn and even commented at the end that he had to go left not right.

"Got it!" Cloud happily exclaimed.

"Take good care of it, it's my last map. I had three, but one disappeared and I gave the other to May."

"I will." Then he started to get ready and Paula and I left to the main room.

As we were sitting on the couches of the room, the main hall door could be heard opening, and about a minute later the main room door opened too. Ling and May! I thought. But it was Snoop and Nicki who entered instead.

"Heyyyy mothafuckasss we r bakk after our romaaaantic vacationss!!!" Snoop said with great excitement.

"Yaaaaassss queeeeensss weee isss!!!" Nicki said, not lacking merriment.

"Snoooop, Nikiikikiikiiiiiiii!! So gr8 to c u bakkkk AF!!" I saluted them.

"Snoop, Nicki, I'm so glad you're back!" Paula exclaimed.

"Sooo, wheres every1 tho???" Nicki asked.

"Well, everyone is kind of... gone." Paula responded.

"Waaaaaaaaaaatttttt?????!?!!!!?"

Then I realized that they had missed everything and that they wouldn't be happy with what had been going on. "... and now everyone is kind of gone... even Cloud is getting prepared to leave just now." Paula said ending her explanation.

Sadness surrounded the room afterwards. And there I knew, no one would rest easy tonight.
