May Chang VIII POV - Chapter 57

Friday - 7:00 pm

We flew our way to Los Angeles after our battle with Hydra. Everybody was feeling rather strange right now. Some of us experienced weird things in the battle, others experienced happy things, others... sad things. Paula's death saddened me deeply. On the other hand, Ness and Lucas' return sort of eased that pain. It was great to have them back.

We stopped some kilometers before Los Angeles, where we left the prisoners. They apparently wanted to live in San Diego. After getting out of the plane, they looked all around, excitedly. I gave them some referential places, along with my phone number. I then thanked everybody for being so brave, and said my final goodbye to them. I smiled at them one last time, hoping each and every single one of them a good life.

When I entered the plane once again, tears fell off my eyes. I couldn't help but think about Paula. How she gave her life for thousands of people. I hope she is in a better place now.

We then made one more stop at the HQ, or where it used to be. There, we saw the State's Police's Forensic Unit. They had a small tend, where they were examining/taking care of Snoop and Nicki's bodies. Naruto then talked to them, convincing them into giving us the bodies for us to bury them. They quickly accepted, and we then took the bodies.

Once in the plane, Cloud asked what were we going to do with Kermit. We were then all surrounded by a very thick, awkward silence. We all knew Kermit's body was in the Hydra HQ (since Ling told me) and the HQ itself got destroyed, meaning we could never get Kermit's body back for the funeral.

"QUEEENNNN!!!" Ness then said.

"R u thinkin what im thinkin???" Lucas asked Ness.

Then both winked at each other before saying, "Lets put dem kermit plushie on the coffin AF!!!!!"

"Queeeennn!!! But lets put him a pink bikini thHOOO dats totes kermit." Ness added.

"NO. Absolutely no. There's no way we're putting a Kermit plush as his replacement in the coffin." Cloud screamed at them.

"Y not queen????" Lucas asked.

"That's not... Uh... Wouldn't that be way too disrespectful!?" Cloud asked.

"Its a-OK queen. I even got da plush AF." Ness said.

Cloud didn't object, so we all just left it at that. After all, Ness had a Kermit plush with a pink bikini that looked just like him. I stared at Cloud for a bit, he looked so heartbroken. I then overheard Alphonse talking on the phone, ordering someone to bring the 75,000 Nekos's bodies. He asked to bring Rayquaza's body from the FBI as well.

Minutes later we arrived to Los Angeles. Specifically in Hollywood, where everybody's funeral was about to take place. We went to the fanciest funeral home, and got prepared for the funeral parlor. Rooms were available in the upper floor of the place, in order for everybody to either rest, get ready, or just stay there for a while.

About half an hour later, I dressed myself with a black dress and went downstairs, where I got greeted by everybody. They all wore black outfits.

Thousands of people were reunited there. Everybody that was a close acquaintance of Kermit, Paula, Snoop, Nicki, Rayquaza and the thousands of Nekos, surrounded the different coffins where the bodies were. Lots of people were crying, while others were simply lamenting internally.

I saw Ling sitting alone at the distance. I attempted to go sit next to him, but I saw another person had already taken the spot. I then decided to go back and sit in another place. I sat in one of the room's corners. I thought I was going to be alone for a while, but surprisingly, Naruto sat next to me. We didn't really talk to each other, it wasn't really necessary. His silent company was more than enough for me not to feel sad.
