Ling Yao IV POV - Chapter 34

Saturday - 6:00 pm

Where should I go? I asked myself while running along the marble stone floors of the Hydra's Headquarters. The halls are like a maze. If I went left I arrived at a dead end. If I went right the same happened. Straights paths often ended in a locked door. Where could the jail cells be?

Once I arrived at a room with a picture of Kermit on the doorknob and a banner that said 'KERMIT' on the top. I tried opening but it was locked just as the rest. Then I knocked for a while but received no response. Eventually I heard some snoring and decided to leave the place. I couldn't be waiting for Kermit while I needed to help May. Sorry, Cloud...

I kept running and a few halls later I found some stairs that led to the basement of the Headquarters. The room was completely dark. I searched through the wall next to the stairs and soon after I found the switch. The lights turned on, revealing rows and rows of tube formations near the walls. I got near them and noticed that inside the green tubes, bodies laid sleeping. What the hell is all of this?! I thought. A huge machine was resting at the far end of the room. Smaller tubes were connected to it and all those smaller tubes connected to the ones with bodies inside.

I went towards the machine and noticed that beside it there were two tube-like formations on either sides. This must be the place where Ness and Lucas became weapons... In the front side, buttons shined red, blue, and yellow; text above the buttons said 'Loading...' A button that said 'OFF' was also residing on the lower part of the machine. I decided to press it. After staring at the bodies for a few moments I realized that the bodies were not moving. They were not giving any signs of life at all. I should leave, I need to find May. I thought while walking away from the machine. Before I left the basement I saw that the machine no longer said 'Loading...' and just said 'Off' now.

After exiting the basement I heard some screams. Distant but getting closer and closer every second. They were not screams but shouts. A name.

"LING!" Someone yelled. I recognized her right away.

"May! I'm so glad to see you here! And Willy, what-" I got interrupted by the candy man.

"Its gr8 to c u butt we neeed to gooo." He went running ahead of us as we followed him, running down the halls.

"So, how did you escape?" May asked me.

"There was an air vent on the ceiling of my cell, I crawled through and eventually appeared in this floor. Did Willy help you?"

"Yeah he did... he is a nice guy." May said.

"He really is... so how long have you been out?" I asked.

"About an hour... what about you?"

"A few hours... I tried looking for you but never actually found the jail cells..."

"Yeah... they are not in this... floor..." May said in between breaths.

We went right and left and straight the halls, and up and down the stairs. Along the way I explained all I saw.

"Kermit?"

"Yeah, it was weird..."

When I explained the basement she got scared.

"Willy said, they... wanted us for some experiment..." She said.

"Yeah... I heard about it too..."

"I seriously... want to... leave..." She said, more exhausted every time.

"We willl AFFFF!!!" Willy yelled ahead of us. We kept running and eventually we arrived at a door similar to the others. "We r hereeee, now leave AF." I then recalled seeing this hallway before.

"This is the place I arrived in when I came out of the air vents. I thought it was just another common door..."

"Yaahhh they use dem confusin doorss in heree." He said as he opened the door with a key. Then we went out.

"Aren't you coming with us?" May asked wearily as I noticed that Willy didn't come out the door.

"Noooo i must stay... take dis keys." He said while handing me some keys. I gave him a confused look. "Dis r 4 da red car over theeeere." He said pointing to said car. "Take it and leaave."

"How did you-" May said interrupted.

"I stolee dem, now leave they could cum bak any minutee now."

Then we started to walk towards the car.

"Thanks Willy!" I said smiling, while waving a goodbye.

"I hope we see each other again! Bye!" May said tearfully.

He waved a good bye back and closed the door. A few moments later we got to the car and I started driving. I don't even know how to drive... I thought as we left Hydra's Headquarters.
