May IV POV - Chapter 33

Saturday - 5:05 pm

I hate being inside of a cage. I hate it so, so much. It's so boring, and dark, and even kind of scary. I am uncertain of what will happen to me, and that scares me.

Nobody has even come to check on me since I was trapped. Or perhaps they have, and I couldn't see anything because it's too dark.

I don't know how long it's been. Hours? Days? Weeks? Ugh. I still don't even know where Ling is. Is he okay? If he's not... No... I don't what to think about something like that.

I silently wished somebody would come rescue me. I saw all around me once again in hopes of getting to find something; but I didn't. I began getting anxious. I screamed out Ling's name quite a lot. I don't want to be here anymore. I thought.

I don't want to be kept as a prisoner again. I was done with that life style a long time ago.

This was a bad idea, wasn't it? Why did everyone actually believe Ling and I could save Ness and Lucas? No. They actually trusted us and we let them down.

I tried screaming Ling's name once more; hoping he would actually hear, which apparently didn't happen, because no one replied back. I tried screaming some more, but as expected, no reply was heard.

I felt defeated. I sat on the floor, cupping my face with my hands. Some tears fell off my eyes. It's over, isn't it? Perhaps I'll never see Ling again. Perhaps I'll be a prisoner again. Perhaps I'm just bounded to be like this forever. Except... this time I'm completely alone.

I took a deep breath and decided to keep myself together. Just then, the room's light went on. A man with a top hat entered the room.

"W-willy?" I asked.

"Yyyaah." He replied, smiling at me.

I smiled at him back.

"Did you... come to rescue me?" I asked him.

"Yahhhh." He said, clicking a button on the wall. Then the cage's door opened.

I let out a relieved laugh.

"Wheres da other squid?" Willy asked me, giving me a candy.

"Ling! I—! I don't know where he is..." I replied, getting out of the cage.

"ooo. lets look 4 him."

"Why are you doing this for us?"

"U were good frinds 2 me bak in Guantamano Bay, dis was da only way i could pay it bak 2 u."

"Really? Thanks!" I exclaimed with a wide smile.

"Yasss, lets move tho. Idk wen they r cumin bak."

And that's what we did, but we noticed the room in which we were only had around 10 cages; all empty. This meant Ling was most likely in another room. Perhaps caged as well. I hope he's okay. I thought.

We then ran outside of the room and began looking for Ling in the rest of the rooms surrounding the area.

Wait for me, Ling. I'll find you!
