Carly Shay V POV - Chapter 48

Wednesday - 11:11 pm

Alphonse and I called the funerary, which in a matter of minutes brought a car outside of the Hydra HQ and prepared Ray's body for his funeral. After they left, Alphonse and I entered the building again to pack our things.

Alph did most of the packing, because I simply couldn't concentrate on doing so. My thoughts revolved around Rayquaza, my one and only. I sat on a bed and began crying; lamenting the fact that my soul mate had died, and I couldn't do anything to stop it.

Eventually, I felt like my eyes ran out of tears. I was equally as depressed as I was before, but I couldn't cry anymore. I simply stared at the wall, thinking about Ray once again.

"Carly?" Alphonse asked me, "Why are you looking at the wall like that?"

"I'm mourning Ray; Alphonse. I just can't stop thinking that he died by the hands of that dammed frog." I replied.

"I understand how you feel..." He replied.

We stared at each other for some long minutes. I was entirely sure we were both thinking the same thing.

"Alph... what if Kermit wasn't the one who killed Ray?" I asked.

Alphonse didn't respond, instead, he just lowered his head and whispered, "Let's just go back to the FBI."

"Alphonse! This is serious! We probably murdered someone innocent!" I screamed at him, completely altered.

"You think I didn't notice!? Carly, let's just leave." Alphonse replied anxiously.

An air vent located at the bottom left part of the wall in front of us then popped out, creating a loud noise. Alphonse and I threw ourselves to the floor, completely scared.

"H-hey! Don't be scared!" Said a man while he got out of the air ducts.

"Who are you!?" I asked.

"I'm Cloud, but that's not important at all. Where's Kermit!?" He asked us.

"Kermit?" Alphonse asked.

"Yes! I can't find him anywhere! I'm just so worried! I know you had a meeting with him so I thought you might have seen him..." He replied.

I sighed, and looked at Cloud directly into his eyes.

"We... kill..." Saying it was hard. "We killed him."

"You what...?" He asked patiently.

"We killed him!" I screamed at him.

"I'm not joking here, so please tell me–"

"We are not joking. We... stabbed Kermit. He is dead." Alphonse interrupted him.

"No way." Cloud said as he sat on the floor slowly. His face turned pale.

"Look." I began, "Kermit killed Rayquaza... Commander Trump's Second in Command. He was my boyfriend... so... when I figured out Kermit killed him... I... killed him without thinking it twice."

"You've got to be kidding me!" He screamed at me, crying, "How can you be so stupid? Killing someone like Kermit without even having any type of proof that he was the one who actually committed the crime!"

"I... Cloud... I." I tried explaining myself, but he interrupted me this time, saying, "Shut up! I saw who killed your boyfriend! It wasn't Kermit... It was some blue hedgehog with long quills!"

Alphonse then looked at me surprised, and I then understood what had really happened. Leader Sonic had killed Rayquaza. I noticed how Alphonse was about to say something, but Cloud continued crying as he screamed at us.

"Kermit was the best person I've ever met. Sure, he was dumb and reckless, but he was incredible and funny as well. I can't simply believe you killed him. You killed him without even knowing him at all. He had a tough life. It's not easy being an actor, and then having all of your friends dying, you know!? Everybody blamed Kermit for the death of all of his friends... he had to give all of his money away so he wouldn't go to jail! He had to live in the streets and even on a forest for a long time because he had no money left! Do you even know how much suffering that is? He came to the Snoop HQ and tried his best to be friends with everyone, but I knew deep inside he wasn't that happy in there. It wasn't until he came to Hydra that he got true happiness again in his life! And then... you... you just ruined it all by killing him!" Cloud cried out.

I then understood how he felt. He was broken inside as well. He felt hopeless and alone, probably. I can't take away the fact that I killed Kermit unfairly, but I would at least try to make things up with Cloud. I thought as I kneeled down and hugged him. Cloud hugged me back as he cried even more. I couldn't help myself, and I ended up crying as well.

It took us a while to calm ourselves down, and when we did so, Alphonse sat next to us.

"We are very sorry for what we have done, Cloud. Damn it. This wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Sonic..." Alph said.

"I know..." Cloud said.

"Carly, Cloud... we need to take revenge for this; we need to join forces and fight against Hydra. They took away Kermit and Ray. They... they need to pay for this." Alphonse said.

"Yes. You are right." Cloud said.

"They will." I promised.

"We should leave though. Before Sonic tries doing anything against us." Alph said.

"I have a car, we could leave to the Snoop HQ together." Cloud suggested.

"It would be better to go to the FBI, there we can settle the alliance." I said.

"Right. Lets leave then."

We nodded as we took our things and left the room.

Ray, I won't forget what Sonic did to you. I thought. Hydra will definitively pay for this.
