Naruto V POV - Chapter 39

Monday - 1:11 pm  

The trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco was an uncomfortable and perilous one, specially since Ling was the one driving. The red car was a fast one, which made it just the more dangerous. We played rock-paper-scissors to decide who was the one driving and since I won, Ling had to drive us there, even though he doesn't even know how to drive.

May and Paula left at the same time to the airport as we did. They should already be on their way to South Korea by now. By leaving, we only left Snoop and Nicki in the HQ. At least they should be safe in there. I thought.

Bump, after bump; we eventually arrived at the Hydra Headquarters. Ling parked in the nearest parking spot and we went walking towards the building as I remembered, FOX THE BOX!

I left the Box in the dumpster back at the HQ after throwing the pizza carton inside.

"I left iitttt!" I told Ling as we were getting closer and closer to the huge building.

"What did you leave?" He asked confused by the random question.

"Foxxx da boxxx!!!"

"What? Did you have it?"

"Yaasss i found it in da dumpster outside da HQ!!!"

"Why didn't you tell us?"

"I forgottt ittt in da saaame dumpster!!! FUUUKK! Now wat do we do?!!?" I exclaimed.

"We don't have time to return. Maybe if we see Ness and Lucas we can try to convince them to return without it?"

"Yeeee..." I said depressed by my incompetence.

Moments later we arrived at the door of the HQ and I started knocking it.

"Lingg! andd frind!?" A candy man with bowl cut hair and top hat exclaimed as he opened the door.

"Willy!" Ling exclaimed as he saw the odd man.

"Wh-who dis?" I asked.

"Naruto this is Willy, Willy this is Naruto." Ling introduced us to each other.

"Ohhhh Willly i've heard lots of things bout uu!!" I exclaimed.

"And ive heard nothin bout u." He said with a smile and wide eyes. "A pleasure AFFFF thoooo."

"Yaaaaasss itt issss." I said happily.

Then he escorted us inside and led us to Kermit's office. Along the way, Willy was talking with Ling but I spaced off and didn't pay them any heed.

I noticed while walking through the hallways that it still looked similar as to when I worked in Hydra. The same gloomy feeling... I thought.

I recognized the hallway that led to Sonic's office right away. Strangely, the pictures of the test subjects that hanged on the walls before, now are only pictures of Kermit.

When we arrived at the door I noticed another Kermit picture hanging on the doorknob and a banner that said 'KERMIT' pasted on the door. Just as Ling said. I thought. Then Willy opened the door and Ling and I followed him inside.

Kermit was occupying the desk Sonic used to own. He was wearing a black suit, with an elegant red tie and a white napkin lying on the pocket of his tuxedo.

"Welcome Naruto and Ling! ^-^" He said when he saw us enter.

"Kurmit!!!" I exclaimed happily.

"Kermit! It has been so long!" Ling said. It has been about a week since Kermit left the HQ, but it indeed feel like a really long time.

"Hey my dearest of friends! ;)) Willy you can leave us now."

"As u say Leader." Willy said as he left the room.

"Sit my dear guests. ^_^" Kermit said while pointing at two empty seats near the desk. "So, why did you come? :0"

"Yo-you asked us here, don't you remember?" Ling said.

"Really? :000"

"Yasssss, u wanted 2 talk with uss." I said while looking at the hanging pictures of Kermit laid on the wall.

"Oh!! That's right! ^0^ I want to make an alliance with you!"

"Alliance?" Ling asked.

"Yes!! :-) I want all of us to work together!"

"Work... together, what do you mean?" Ling asked while I stood up and started inspecting a bookshelf. The same old books... I thought.

"Yes!!!! ^o^ I want all of us to be together after so long! To rescue Ness and Lucas together!"

"Wait, Ness and Lucas are not here?" Ling asked while looking back at me with a puzzled expression.

"No silly! :$ They are not here. That's why I need an alliance! ^~^ In order to find them!!!!!"

"You really want to help..." I heard Ling say, but I spaced off when I saw something in the air vents on the ceiling. I leaned closer and noticed someone was there. Cloud.

"Clo-" I started but noticed he shushed me without making a sound. Then he grabbed his phone and seemingly started typing. I took my phone out and noticed there was a new message.

"Kermit only allows his guests to be in his meetings. I'm currently spying since that's my job now." The message said. I looked back at the ceiling and Cloud was no longer there.

"So, I will get each of you a room! ^#^ So you can stay a couple of days!!" Kermit exclaimed while handing Ling some keys.

"Thanks Kermit!" Ling exclaimed.

"Tnxxx Kermittt!!!!" I exclaimed too.

"Good! 8-) I will give you food and stuff!!!" Kermit actually does look happy now. Maybe that's all he needed, to actually feel appreciated by people. And we never gave him that...

"Bye!" Ling said as we were walking towards the door.

"Baaiiii!" I said afterwards, then we exited the room and closed the door behind us.

"Here are the keys." Ling said showing me the keys. One said #9 and the other #11. "Well apparently we came here for nothing since Ness and Lucas are not even here..."

"Yee, ik..." How could Kermit take the Leadership away of a power-thirsty person such as Sonic? I asked myself while walking through the dim hallway.

"Well, actually there are two good things. One, Hydra is no longer a threat against us," he said, "and two, we have our once enemies backing us up now. We only need to actually find Lucas and Ness now, but, where could they be?"
